You've been through so much..some I can relate to but you had it so much harder. I can't wait to hear the rest of your story....i will comment on the spanking of your children....When I had my first child I remember him making some noise during a meeting and I stood up and rocked him in the back of the hall. An elder came up to me and offered to take him outside and spank him for me....I was disgusted. I have lovley memories of being taken to the bathroom or outside and spanked and many memories of hearing outher children scream from the bathroom after you could hear the sound of open hands hitting bare flesh...

Anybody have a three year old??? HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
by mama1119 ini have a 3 year old girl, and she is wild... she has recently started completley disobeying, talking back, slamming doors, spitting at me etc.
it is getting miserable to go anywhere because she throws fits, runs around resturants screaming.
at dance class, her teacher had to send her off the floor because she was the only kid running around and woud not listen.

I know every child is different and although my 3 year old doesn't through bad tantrums and found something that has worked for me. My two youngest are 18 months apart. My 3 year old would throw himself on the floor and cry loudly. My hubby and I would take pictures of him while he was doing this and show them to him later and ask him if he looked mean or nice, ugly or pretty, kids his age can be great at manipulation. He understands alot of it...this helped or when he was throwing the tantrum i would hold a mirror up on front of him and say "your scaring mommy"..."see your scary face".. can you look in the mirror and show me a nice face, then we can do something".. Sometimes that works and sometimes you just have to ingore it. most kids that age want a purpose...want something to do. At the grocery stores here they have the mini carts that you kids can push.... if you have those give her an incentive..."mommy will let you push your very own cart if you can behave". Or find her little jobs to do... We have a kids size mop and broom and dust pan....my 3 year old loves to use these to help mommy.....let her know she can help the baby by sitting close and singing a little song. Any way... i hope you find something that works... i know how exauhsting it is to have a baby and a young one. take a deep breath and make sure you get to have your own time to yourself every so often.

A vanilla latte or a chai tea.....unless i'm home then it has to be my coffee fresh ground a suicide blend half decaf half regular......YUM.... I live on coffee.

Afte i gave birth to my third BOY. I knew i was done. My hubby went and got fixed I have an 8yr old a 3yr old and a 2yr old.....the 2 little ones keep the house upside down and side ways. I knew that three was what i could handle. Although my husband and I said that when they are older and if I still want a girl that we would look into adopting......and thats if we are still doing well financially......We really miss having our own time and getting to go on our dates.....So, we'll see. I'm so glad that my 2 yr old is finally sleeping through the night.....i always thought it was interesting when one baby might be very calm and sleep through the night at a week old and the other can have collick and want to nurse every friken 30 mins......You never know.....But i do miss them being so little and tiny.......but i'm so glad i'm not having anymore

When I was 17 i was out with a group of JW friends.......we were teenagers and tipped over a port-a-potty. One of the guys I was with got a consience and told the elders on the rest of the group.....we were all reproved, publicly, but we were told not to apologise to the company that owned the port-a-potty....looking back now I know i did a stupid teenage prank....BUT I was a teenager not in my late 30's......and if some of us had gone to the company that owned the port-a-potty or to the home owner who's property it was on.......can you imagine what would have happened if they discovered we were "gods people"......newspaper articles....we were under age so probably public service... Anyway, I was thinking and I believe part of the reason these guys acted like teenagers is cause as JW's (at least me) We have no childhood...........so we tend to do childish things if we haven't had a time in our life to do crazy stuff and get over that phaze.........I personally think that they were not sincerly sorry.....they behaved like kids and they are apologising like kids (its the i'm sorry if i have to be). Press charges or get a offical statment from the police and go to the papers. They need some real punishment......and if they are this childish you can be sure something stupid like this will happen again...maybe not to you but to another ex-JW.

if only you had hung in there and faded they would treat you as family but now it tears at them that they can't talk to you.

The thing is for a while i tried to fade.....she wouldn't let me. She would call up the local elders and tell them I needed sheparding. I finally moved out of that area to where I live now and when I moved she called the elders up here and they actually tracted me down at the laundry mat. I went to some meetings and they were in the middle of counceling me on past actions that I had to repent on. They were going to reprove me and I had thought they would DF me. anyway I was tired of dragging my son to meetings and spanking him and talking to the elders about my premarital sex and asking for forgivness.....I think thats mostly why i DA myself in the fiirst place. I learned a whole lot more after I left and felt free to look up stuff and research questions I have had for a long time. I have asked her about different things.....but she avoids answering them than says she doesn't remember me asking her stuff in the first place. She has a big denile problem. I have told her I want a relationship with her and i prefer not to talk about religion but she is so consumed with it all its not possible. She says I need to be a JW.....its not good enough that I might believe some of the things.....jehovah made a name for his people....and if I don't have that name i will die. My family will die....i'm killing my kids. She tries using the fact that my dad and brother have died to guilt me into coming back cause "don't you want to see them in the new system". So I'm kinda lost maybe I will figure it out but part of me just wants to scream.....Do some research don't just believe what someone tells you. Anyway.......I know i'm kinda ranting but I enjoy reading alot of posts here and getting insight on other lifes and I'm just throwing in my own experiance. : )

Then you start thinking about how maybe you should have let the elders reprove you before instead of getting tired of all the BS and writing them that DA letter. Well i'm glad to be out but I'm so tired of my mom repeating this to me "you should have faded". I know theres got to be some other ones here that have gone throught this similar experiance. If you have any advice i will gladly accept. Do I just tell her how I NEVER want to go back again or just lie and play along and hope in 20 years she will speak to me like a normal family member.

Knowing my daughter is growing up in a way that allows her to grow and accept things as they are - rather than being brainwashed as we were - makes me happy.
For me its knowing my boys will grow in this way. To be able to learn and grow. Not just to be told how to think and to just accept it. My oldest enjoys learning and know that there are things that he can decide for himself.
I think we all have days where we ponder on the negitive too much and it gets us down....but over all we have lots to be happy for :)

cant have walt disney movies or stuffed animals as this is magical.

In my hall we wern't aloud to wear dresses or skirts that went below our ankles (it was a fad at the time) and we were supposed to wear panty hose at all times. Short skirts could not be above the knees and that includes the slits.....we had a big talk once about how sisters should imagine how short there skirt would be if it was to be cut off at the top part of the slit.......if that was above the knee the slit was to be sewn shut down to the proper point. Thong panties were not aloud (inmodest). You could not wear you birth stone. We were contsantly counceled on how to not be materialistic but many elders wives had 100 dollar purses and book bags and drove 2 door jaguars and had large diamond rings.....oh yeah and they didn't hang out with other jw's that wern't as well off.
