SCAN OF WT ARTICLE ON WIVES.....
by Mary insome of you asked for a scan of the february 15, 2007 wt study on wives being in subjection.
i forgot to mention, the one paragraph stresses that not only are you a second class citizen in the marriage, but women are also to "obey" the numbnuts in the congregation, even if you've got a higher iq:.

Heathen - What happens to the ones that don't have a 'sound mind'. Some have had a 'sound mind' knocked out of them by Watchtower policy.
Indeed Gill. Sounds minds are difficult to find in the highly indoctrinated; I have found that they tend to rationalise the irrational and are chronically delusional. DB74

Name better ways to attract new people at the Kingdom Hall?
by JH in1) build a hall in the center of the city, not far away like they usually do.. 2) make it 1 hour meetings.
3) dress clean, that's all.
4) beards or no beards, that's not important, it's what's in your heart that counts.. .

Anxiety, stress, depression - What do you take?
by MsMcDucket ini've been feeling like a slug.
the antidepressant that i was taking wasn't working.
the doctor couldn't give me another steroid injection for my migraines because it caused my blood sugars to go sky high and made me suffer from steroid induced mania; and then after it started leaving my system, i had this really down feeling.

Effexor, but, lately I've been feeling very lethargic.
I am no doctor but apparently this is one of the side effects of this antidepressant; a number of my clients have been prescribed this and have described the same side effects.

Maybe in your case you will need more than one sign.
Definately, one that says 'NO JEHOVAHS WITNESSES' and the second which says, 'YES THAT MEANS YOU, STUPID!'

I dont take antidepressants but a number of my clients do; the most common for less serious depression I found to be Citalopram.

There is NO good excuse for any product to ever be sold multi-level.
Although I have looked into it, I am not into MLM in the slightest as I dont have the time or inclination to get involved however I cant agree with the above statement.
Most products and services in business are sold or moved through distributions channels; the most common being Manufacturer - Wholesaler - Retailer - End User. MLM is just an alternative distribution channel.
MLM strikes me as no different except that they sell through independent sales people, this is cheaper and easier to control and in my view an excellent business reason to sell a product through MLM. How can this be 'no good excuse'?
In my view the only people who get burned with MLM are those people who make poor business decisions about getting involved with the wrong company.

Women are in subjection to their husbands and to the Elders!!!!!
by Gill inthe february 15th watchtower 2007, is spectacularly nauseating!!!
at least i found it so.. i would welcome the opinion of all on the board to this sentiment on page 19, paragraph 8 and9:.
'although subjection can be challenging, women can welcome it as honorable, even as did jesus.

I had a conversation with my mother on this very issue (I couldnt let it lie in fact my blood is still boiling). First of all she hasnt got her copy yet and was curious as to where I had got my copy of this article; so whilst I know Slimboyfat might disagree with me, I lied about where I got a copy of the article!
Apparently even though I read the offending articles verbatim and didnt paraphrase any part of it - (until it came down to explaining why I was horrified) she said the following:-
- I wasnt reading it context.
- I wasnt reading it correctly (apparently I must not be intelligent enough to read)
- Because I wasnt in the truth, I wouldnt be able to understand (add this one to the list of cultish comments)
- That the elders were slaves even though they had oversight and control and further she was in subjection to them!!! (spot the contradiction).
However she did say the following things:-
- 'It doesnt matter what the Wacktower says, when you read the bible you get the full understanding of the issue'; so I agreed with her on this and asked whether she accepts that the Watchtower can depart from biblical teaching if that is the case. She was quiet on this one and told me that I was better reserving my questions for an elder.
- She wouldnt be part of an organisation that condoned staying with an abusive husband (although made the distinction between abuse and life threatening abuse!!) This will come back and bite her, as we are going to discuss it further.
I am horrified as to the extent of her brainwashed cultish mind; she is so brainwashed that she can read an article and get a completely different meaning from the article than what is actually written; she defended the statements made and suggests that she doesnt see a problem!
I have never been so angry even 15 hours after the conversation!

Homeopathy popular in Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by Tigerman inis homeopathy ( the treatment of a disease using, in small doses, drugs that produce symtoms like those of the disease so that one's natural immune system can fight off the disease ) popular among active jw's ?
my son who was raised as a jw has a large ( adult male palm size ) fatty growth on his back.
his jw mother is treating him with homeopathy, as is a so called doctor.

I think there is a definate place for alternative and complimentary medicine but I think its use by dubs is often misplaced when used exclusively; I have seen it used for things such as depression which should be treated by traditional means. Of course it is inconceivable that a dub consult a mental health professional!
I always found it incredulous how many dubs suffered from weird and rare disease's and yet would only seek complimentary medicine as treatment!
