That is a valid reason and i agree but given some posts id seen on this site people do generally say what they feel irrespective as to others beliefs and fair play to them....each to their own i suppose.

Do you feel that "all" Christian denomnations should be "abolished"?
by booker-t ini ask this question because my "atheist" friend the other day told me that he is much mentally free now since he left christianity.
he told me that "all" christians that he comes into contact with or knows from his religious lifetime are "miserable" and that the govt should abolish all christian groups for the sake of perserving the mental health of the people.
christians never are satisfied with their lives because they are trying to measure up to "jesus" and the apostles and will never measure up which causes many nervous breakdowns among religious people of all christian groups not just jw or mormons but many born-agains have mental breakdown as well.

he says when he was young it was about trading valentines (cards); not about gifts.
halloween is a major holiday, but not a day off.

like Valentine's Day. I don't care one bit if it's commercialized. Afterall, that's why I celebrate Christmas. I see these days as days to eat, drink, and be merry. Not that I can't do that everyday, but I'd feel guilty if I did. So I use holidays as an excuse to eat too much, spend too much on presents and just have fun.
I have to agree with you...its fun...and we all know that we should love our partners all year round butthat excuse for not celebrating Valentines or any other holiday is both a cop out and an excuse to be tight as a nats chaff.
Long live Valentines....
PS) I got my partner a Kitten for Valentines...and I got aftershave...we had a nice meal out and enjoyed the evening....whats wrong in that i say?

Yes, all Christian religions should be banned .. I'm just kidding of course.. but really, even if someone on this board felt that way, would they say so? I doubt it.
Personally if i felt that way i would...what would be wrong in expressing that feeling?...why would people prefer not to say so? Just out of interest?

Never mind children i dont believe anyone of any age should go peddling the crap that is so called the truth...not unless they have obtained a degree in philosophy, sociology and majored in critical thinking....my guess is anyone who has done the above or anything near it wouldnt insult the general public with such referenceless meaningless drivel.

After an age in the "truth" as such i choose not to go to church and allow others to dictate how i worship, although i have to disagree with banning all christian denominations. People for varying reasons need something to cling to...something to believe even if to others it doesnt make a great deal of sense. My mother is still a devout JW but if i was to dispell her believe system i firmly believe it would destroy her...now faced with that possibility i would sooner she carry on as before.
Banning religion in any breath is akin to taking away someones freedoms which to be honest is wholly immoral. Good thread...bad idea!

i am a supporter of silentlambs and i am interested in furthering the legal cases to this country also.
