does anyone know who is/are the ultimate insectors of the wt's finances?
and is there any transparency in their finances and also accountability to the public?
can we really know what they do with the profits?
Has anyone tried companies house in the UK....they should file their annual accounts and P&Ls there every year....might have a peek...

do you socialize with your neighbors?
everyone knows how we as a religious group only socialized with each other, then when inside the hall, we only associated with a select few, those who were deemed worthy of our association.
now that you are out, or in varying degrees of staying within the borg, are you allowing yourself to get out and mingle amongst those in your community?
My neighbours are cool...they have invited us round for BBQ's and regularly chat over the garden fence; the wind we had in the UK a few months back was a great icebreaker...given that we had just moved in. We needed to fix a fence panel and needed access their garden...Elaine did her usual chatting to the neighbour bit while I struggled with the next door neighbours husband to fix the fence.
Its a massive culture shock for those who like me were brought up to avoid needless associations with worldly people.
Crumpet if you can arrange transportation you can have our conifers as they are a nightmare....does anyone know a good tree surgeon, then again better not... your neighbours will probably get a petition up against me for spoiling their quiet enjoyment view.

Grange Hill, He-man, Rentaghost, Moomins??!!, Willo the Wisp, Airwolf, Blue Thunder, Terrahawks, Star Fleet, Battle of the Planets, The A Team, Monkey, Kung Fu, in fact wasnt allowed to watch anything that wouldve been remotely fun to watch as a lad. (however i did bugger off out of the house to my mates up the road to watch half the stuff at his but that was shortlived because i was stopped from associating with a worldly friend).
Further restrictions:
I had to take the guns off my spaceships which i made from space lego, and get this...this one is the best....i wasnt allowed to join the dennis the menace fan club....

i work for a rather large financial institution in nyc.
i run a large profit center and manage over 100 people.
on of my best workers is a dub doing a slow but progressive fade.
On of my best workers is a Dub doing a slow but progressive fade. He has informed me that another co-worker has personal issues (that he did not mention) with him and has been rude and unresponsive to him on many occassions concerning business issues.
My secretary who knows all the gossip in the company gave me the real story. The worker that is being rude is a dub, who has spoken to the elders about the unchristian conduct of the other worker. She decided to Mark him or shun him until the elders deal with his bad conduct.
This has caused considerable strife within the department and people are unsure of how to react around these 2 employees.
Incidently, neither know that I was once a dub and has been faded for over 10 years. Also neither has made an attempt to tell me the whole story.
My problem is that the work of the fading dub is suffering and he has dropped the ball on a few occassions where it appears that he should have consulted with the over righteous dub for imput.
I am pretty steamed that this sh@t is being brought into the work place, but I know I must reolve it professionally and quickly.
These things tend to get out of hand very quickly if they are not dealt with; you should meet with them seperately and possibly on an informal basis and identify the real issues at stake; you need to mention to both of them that their external views of each other should be left outside the office doors and both should act professionally. Ignoring someone, being unresponsive, keeping them out of the loop can be tantamount to harassment dependent upon the circumstances; if you have a policy on these sorts of things then you should reiterate its contents and warn whichever party that is at fault (or even both) that if they fail to deal with each other professionally in work then disciplinary action could well be taken.
If you have a Human Resources department it might be an idea to involve them in the discussions because no doubt they will be more aware of the labour laws applicable to your place of work (as opposed to myself in the UK).

I try to get to know people based upon what I see and experience with them; i tend not to go along with what they say too much because that can be deceptive, body language, interpersonal skills tend to give it away more than verbal communications.
You can never really know people though...and life is full of unexpected twists and turns when it comes down to friendships and relationships.

The WTS has way too much time on their hands if they can only think of this petty issue to blast....surely they would have more important issues to resolve.
The sad thing about this is that it is about control purely and simply; if you asked a JW about whether it was right to tip your hat they would say it was wrong but would not be able to recall exactly why it is...
The questions from the readers article suggest they are not keen advocates of equal opportunities are they?
