  Who wouldn't you let near your computer?

  lets say you were inactive, and an elder came over to encourage you, and he saw that you have a computer, would you let him near it?

  Did you ever see a TRULY happy JW?

  i mean seriously, most of us have been inside for a number of years.

  so during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were you ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time?

  if you were happy, when was it?

  according to me, i don't think so... some seem to be happy, but as soon as you begin talking (seriously, not jsut saying hello) with them, you can see they have problems. most think those problems make them feel unhappy, but most of the times, these problems wouldn't exist if they were not JWs... but asking if that il the society which makes them feel unhappy is an other question :-)) so, i would just say "no, i've never seen a truly happy JW"

  Recommend a film

  no big hollywood blockbusters, no explosion fests, just good films with a decent cast and a decent script.

  definitely nothing with keanu reeves and preferably something that will touch the audience rather than just wash over them.

  timeframe immaterial but quality is important.

  My DA letter!

  i have sent out my first three letters: one to the local congregation, one to the governing body (right, right, like i'll get a reply?

  i lurk here from time to time, generally if i am feeling down or having trouble with something re: jws.

  i have not been to a meeting for over a year now, and neither has my wife.

  who remembers their first day at school

  i remember mine...it was in the days when all pupils gathered daily for a service to start the day even though it was not a religious school...anyway my sister had started the same school the previous year and my parents had informed the school that she would not be attending the daily service..not a problem..except for some reason they assumed that because i was the same surname the school would make the connection that i wasnt to go into service...but they didnt and so i found myself right at the front of the hall on my first day not even 5 years old in my new blazer and short trousers with all the other pupils behind me knowing i shouldnt be there..so i started crying..and first my teacher came to see what was wrong but quickly got frustrated because i couldnt explain myself..so she smacked me for crying and kept smacking me to get me to stop crying and then got the headmistress to smack me to get me to stop crying until eventually time was up and they had to cancel the service.....result...still loved school though...tijkmo

  i don't remember... but my parents have always told me i felt at ease immediatly... and i can believe that, i've always liked school, and i want to be a primary teacher, so...!!!

  The Best Response To Memorial Invites?

  they will not give up!!

  i live a ways away from my old congregation and i work with a couple of active witnesses who know i'm inactive.

  so, i've been bombarded with phone calls and asked by my co-workers to go to the memorial.

  i remember being told if you partake of the emblems and not be of the anointed the bad things will happen you or at the very least christ will be real made at you.

  i have always believed the witness's to be presumptuous on their part of this issue to make such a statement, who are they to say who should and who should not.

  does not the bible/christ, say to do this always in remembrance of me, concerning his followers are we not his followers?

  wow, 3 years since i first found this place and joined the fray.

  i think i've spent more time here over the past three years than i did during the last three years i attended the kh.

  i've been up and down quite a bit since leaving the cult, cults attract people who are emotional cripples and i am no exception, and the cult only makes you worse.
