I just got home from the "special" talk. My brother gave it. He invited me so I didn't want to ungrateful. It was exactly the one Ip-Sec posted 02-Mar-05. Neo supplied a link on page 1.
What made it a "special" talk was the fact that it was the same talk given at all congregations for this date. Last week there were 98 in attendance at this hall today there were 198. Just saying.
i live in the country on a hill and i know in the country there are lots of birds but for 3 days now there have been a group of turkey buzzards flying over my house non stop.
as far as i know there is nothing dead in my yard but they constantly circle and circle around my house and getting close to the windows.

for some time now i've been searching the wts' publications for a policy that i clearly remember from my time as an elder.
but i just can't find it.
it was the one which stated that if someone--even a congregation servant--came forward and confessed to wrongdoing, there would not have to be a judicial committee, nor would a servant even need to lose his privileges--if at least three years had passed and the individual had put the sin behind him/her.
I heard this 3 year thing was only mentioned at an official elders meeting, the big get together usually held at an assembly hall. The impression was that there was a shortage of elders so by coming forth now and confessing they could still retain their positions. This only aplied to elders and not the general congregation. This information was from an elder that attended. If I remember it was a few years ago.

it seems that we're seeing more and more folks getting elder's visits scheduled, like an explosion recently.
Not an elder, but I just got a visit from 2 elders an hour ago. It's been 18 months since their last visit.
Just the usual please come back to the meetings.I mentioned the new OD book, and asked if that was why they were visiting today.
"Nope. We were going to build a new KH. That's changed." Same reason as been reported on this site.(lack of $$$$$$$$$$$$ )
"It's easier to consoladate congregations then build a new hall."said elder. "One congregation will be disbanded. So now we will have two congregations all mixed from the three."
Probably a push on to contact inactive ones. I personally doubt if there is a push on to DA inactive ones. The sky may be falling, but not on us.

there is an elder at my hall that was removed last week.. he was not df, he still is in good standing.
he did not request it.. how can an elder be removed?.
what is the process?.
just really want to know what the process is as she(wife) said they have known about the possiblity of it since the CO's visit in December. and the announcement has just been made.
Sounds like the decision might have been made by the CO and not the BOE. I know of an elder that had to step down because his daughter wasn't coming to the meetings. When the CO left the elder was re-appointed. This elder is 65, maybe the CO didn't like him. It happens.
