  Who determines the "144,000 heaven goers"

  hey all!!

  i am married into a jw family, and i was told that there were only 144,000 people going to heaven (jw people at that) and i know one of the supposed people.

  who determines this?

  Question: Does anyone know what the ratio of women to men in the annointed group?

  I was curious to find out if they also enjoy excluding woman from this privilage.

  i just found out that , on my wife's side of the family, the last witness kid has given up!.

  he was the very last one in that half of our extended witness family.

  The WTBS ideology is so at odds with todays lifestyle that no wonder the kids are leaving in droves. The web coupled with the recent scandals have really helped many young people question the orgs teachings.

  the march 15 watchtower contains two items about the blood issue.. first, it mentions a young witness named elena, who as "one of jehovah's witnesses,.

  would not donate blood or accept blood transfusions" (pg18).. second, it contains a question from readers that appears as perfect an example of muddled.

  Why did they change the sterilization beliefs?

  i posted this on another thread but it suddenly seemed more important and i wanted to get some opinions!

  i was still a dub when sterilization changed from a consciences matter to a no-no.

  i remarked to my wife at the time that i thought the reason for this was a declining membership!

  I've been asked to speak about JW's

  i started talking with my barber about a month ago about jw's and he is a young guy and involved with his church youth group.

  he has now asked me to come to his church and speak about jw's, i am so excited about this and cant wait.

  i have alot of preparation work to do beforehand, and im also gonna try to show some videos to the group.
