weird reasoning...

a cousin of mine was married to a brother at seventeen for two years.

they both pioneered and were, evidently, a happy spiritual couple.. my cousin realised that she had made a huge mistake marrying this brother, as they both were hormonally charged teenagers who had followed paul's advice to get married if they could not go without sex.

she just did not love him any more and she felt trapped by the jw stance on divorce.. this was her escape plan:.

I have a friend that married a total witch for a wife, she would not consumate the marriage and had severe mental problems, well the poor guy was stuck with a wife that had no HS diploma, woudln't work, cook or clean the house, have sex with him and verbally abused him, so after a couple of months of marriage they seperated and he waited a full year then did what he felt he had to do to end his marriage scriptually and had sex with another women, he told the elders and he requested to be Df'd as the elders told him he could be privately reproved, and that was how he got out of it. The sad part was that he was then told that he was still not free to remarry until his ex wife married first, so he eneded up waiting 5 years for her to remarry, so that he could feel free. The part that pissed me off was that his dad was a prominent elder and knew that his son did not need to wait till she remarried per the elders handbook. JW's truly force their flock to commit terrible sins and hurt others just to get a divorce.

as i was taking my shower this morning i was musing about certain posts i had read the day before.

the one about the tampons just tickled me to no end.

crazy stuff people will do to enforce whatever crazy ideas they have about human sexuality.

I just read this thread and in my opinion country woman was not at all being racist. There is a distinct diffirence between you as a person having a bad or traumatic expirience and then being told to stop rehashing it and move on. The whole slavery issue is not a move on issue, as you MrsJ did not expirience the slavery yourself, what occured in those times was cruel and without justification of any kind, but it did not happen to you specifically so it's a very diffirent circumstance than your originally intented post.

Dating/relationships and ex-dubbyness

ok, so i allways thought that dating someone who used to be a witless would be cool , since you would both kinda know what the other had been through in his/her life.

so my question is: how many of you date/have dated ex-witnesses, why or why not and does the relationship benifit from it...and just your ideas about it in general.. .

I say why not?

It's always best to try something before you knock it, I never wanted to date a dub when I was attending the kh.

At this point in my life I would date an ex-dub. My only fears would be that he would go back for his family or the "wifely subjection issue" and that we as a couple would have so much baggage that we could not have a healthy relationship.

Eye Make-up infor to use with Dubs

i found these articles while researching information on make-up and eye make-up specifically.

although they are not written by the dubs, i could see the same type of argumentation occurring in a wt article.

this might help any who, like me, need to be ready to defend the idea that the society picks and chooses what is acceptable and what is not.

I can't believe the audacity to have a religious group tell me how and if I can wear makeup.

I love to wear makeup and do my hair, I do wear what some would consider a lot of makeup, but I never look overdone, trashy or slutty. I have always had women compliment me on how flawlessly my makeup looks and they ask me for advice and tips. I think we wear makeup not so much as for seduction but for our own personal vanity and self esteem. I do remember there being women in our hall who never wore makeup or very little and that was there personal choice, mine was to be madeup and no one should have the right to look down on me and tell me to take it off. And if someone ever did I would tell them where to shove it.

well as from my earlier posts, my jw gf told her parents she wanted to marry me last saturday.

they gave her the guilt treatment about not being a good jw and how marrage to a non jw is a sin etc.

and when i saw her monday she said she could not marry me anymore.

I have read your previous posts and have refrained from commenting because I know you love her, but the sad truth is that she is a JW and seems quite immature, if you proceed in this quest for her I have a very good feeling that you will end up a very miserable man in the long run thanks to the JW's treatment of unbelieving spouses. And also please consider the plight of your children should you decide someday to have some with her. I am truly sorry you are having to deal with this pain, sometimes you just can't help who you fall in love with.

I don't think i ever posted to this because as someone married to a JW ,i can pretty much tell that you're life will be hell if you did marry . Even if she would say she no longer wants to be a JW and did marry you, many in time go back to the JW vomit they left when their life gets complicated and you would be left as the unbelieving mate who has no love for her God. I know you care for her but is this really the life you would want to led? If i knew what i know now ,i would run as fast and far as i could.

Unfortunately it is true, in the long term you need to evaluate if this is a life you can live with. It will be a rollacoaster ride for both of you. She needs to go through the motions alone before she can wholeheartedly commit to a relationship with you. Believe me, as much as you love her now, you can believe us as a lot of us know, we've been there. I don't want to diminish the love you have for your gf, but I think you might find there are simply thousands of young naiive JW girls that you would be attracted to in a similar way, there is a definite appeal, you might even feel a need to save her in some way from the terrible pain and torment that is her life. But in the end she has to make that decision for herself, and until that happens she will not be able to commit to you in the way you want her to.

I am sorry for you situation but honestly if she isn't mature enough to stand up to her parents she isn't mature enough to make the life commitment of marriage.

PAJA the final comment by Eduardo should be most alarming to you, any adult that cannot make their own decisions without having their hand held by mommy and daddy is never going to be able to take a stand on anything. Best wishes. DL76

My question is does Silent Lmabs have a log of known/presumed pedophiles in each state/city/kh they attend? I think with that I could look up the pedophiles info print the pic/offense and then give out at the KH/post up on doors that the pedophiles attends. I think that would be more effective as people could see an official record from the state of the crime and picture for proof. Any thoughts on this?

i've been racking this around my brain for a minute now.

you've got people puttin in an average of 10 hours a month, giving away countless publications, and still only converting one or two families every 20 years or so.

this raises an obvious question, "if the door to door ministry doesn't bring in converts why do it?

Simple: It's a publishing company and it uses it's "publishers" to go door to door selling magazines made by free labor, in the name of the all mighty dollar. So it's all about the benjamins!

The guilt part is always there regardless of what activity a JW may be participating in.

Family ,what would you do

i am going to try and explain this with out dragging this on so here goes, i am the youngest of four sibblings,i have a older brother which i never see and two older sisters.

i am close to my sister that is close in age to me but have a sister that is about ten years older.

when i was a teen my dad killed himself and the mother was a 24 hr mean drunk who after my dads death was committed to a nut ward.
