I feel for you, I know all to well how you feel.
I have been in similar situations much to my embarrassment.
It's not fair since I didn't have a choice, that is why I choose to make it up for it now how ever I can, while I cannot recapture my lost childhood I can make the best of what I have now and be proud with who I have become.

We cut our electricity bill in half
by rebel8 inwe did it by reducing television and air conditioner usage, being more conservative about using the oven, getting rid of an old freezer, and changing our light bulbs.
.
i'm very proud of us!

<---- Would love to see her bill go down, I have replaced the heat pump, water heater, condenser and changed the some bulbs and I still can't get my bill below $300 during the summer months, at least it has not gone up too bad.

good for you. its not easy but in my opinon you did the right thing. you're avoiding becoming the victim of abuse. again, you did the right thing and you'll realize soon you'll be better for it.
good luck and be well....

Did you ever play 'WATCHTOWER HOOKY' ?
by AK - Jeff inlong before we 'figured it out', i think we were tiring of the whole routine and demands, though we could not admit such openly, even to each other for the most part.
but i recall occasionally 'oversleeping', and in some cases i had woke early enough but just intentionally let time go by and got up 'running late'.
our family 'tradition' was to stop for breakfast at a local restuarant on the way to the kh.

Looking for advice from anyone out there with grad or advanced degrees
by NYCkid inhey, i'm finishing up my last year in undergrad school and am considering pursuing grad school.
i am hoping to chat with individuals privately, who are attending grad school or have a graduate/advanced degrees for advice about the practicalities and expenses relating to attending grad school later in life (mid-30s +).. i'm not pursing medicine, law or business, so i'm concerned that the effort and expense of grad school may not be worth it.. thanks,.

I have an MBA and learned that a degree most of the times does not mean much. EXPERIENCE counts for alot. Higher degrees in many majors only really qualify you to teach (liberal arts, education, etc...) I would look at the career path you want to pursue, talk to people in that career and see how they got there. Usually experience counts for alot. Sometimes a technical certification or something might help as well. Other instances, a higher degree really doesn't do much- for example, a teacher with a Phd who teaches in a public high school might make a little more than a teacher with a lesser degree, but still makes alot less than other professions.
One option- go into the workforce, get some experience, then maybe go back to grad school. most of the times it will enhance your career and your employer might pay for it.
again, it all depends on the field. by the way, what field are you considering?

GRRRR - Swollen Knuckles.
by KW13 inrecently i told you guys about my bipolar, well today i lost it big time.. having an arguement with megans mum and in the middle of it, she says 'dont you feel ashamed not working and living off the state' and that 'bipolar wasnt an excuse really'.. then a moment later cos i shot her down on that (since she doesnt know about bipolar) she says that if its so bad i should be f****** sectioned.
at that point i said to her if she spoke another word it was likely my fist would end up in her mouth (just talk but i felt like it) and then i was pushed to far, so i hit the door.
the door is solid, i would like to confirm to everyone that this door does not have a soft center, i hit it so damn hard, i had to vent somehow - my knuckles are swollen.. the arguement ended and its dealt with, she said megan was making up claims of her stepdad abusing her now he is dead, because she wants her mum to love him less wtf?.

I'm bipolar, and have been on meds. If you know you're bipolar, the only right thing to do is see a doctor, for your benefit and those around you. especially if you're doing things that you regret later.
unchecked and unmedicated, bipolar is a hard road, can lead to self-medication like alcohol or drugs, which can really make you cycle, and really do a number on your behavior. this is destructive, leading to problems with family, friends, marriage, job, finances, jail, drugs, alcohol, etc...
friendly advice- in addition to seeing a psychiatrist for meds, see a counselor also, since bipolar people almost always have "baggage" which also tends to make behavior destructive.
i hope you find the sense of peace that i have. be well...
