Yes, that line means more to a JW than anything else, it's used liberally by all JW's in hopes of subduing independent thinking. It's quite effective in striking fear into the heart of any loyal dub.

So what you are saying is that it's ok to let someone die a horrible painful death to appease the harmony of justice system? What if this was a child? How is this any diffirent then the JW's denying their kids life saving blood? The kids don't have a voice and neither does Terri. The point is Terri did not have a living will with final arrangements, so we do not know the truth.

Micheal Schiavo was only interested in the $ from the malpractice lawsuit. Keeping Terri alive would mean having to spend the money on her. So he has fought a long uphill legal battle and wasted much of the money on that, instead of Terri's care. Terri Schiavo is a humane being, she should be treated with dignity and respect, allowing her to starve to death is cruel and unusual punishment. The Humane Society doesn't even treat animals like that. And we really don't know what her true wishes were, as we have only heard from her husband. I hope that if she has to die, that it happens quickly for her sake.

the watchtowers call to all congregations for accountants and lawyers especially those familiar with tax laws makes me seriously think they may be in hot water.
since the watchtower organization has been very vocal especially in the past about its anti-government stanse and its df'ing of persons that join the military,or other government jobs, i'm willing to speculate that the united state counter intellignece agency has seen the need to sneak some of its agents inside the wt, for internal security purposes.
also i'm sure that the internal revenue has been keeping a close eye on the gb,, the reason being that they are a huge cash cow, and a dishonest coniving mind control cult.

has anybody noticed the trend of a lot of sellers to lure you in with a low price, only to find, in very tiny print at the bottom, the cost of shipping "and handling" usually being as much as the product itself?
i have seen sellers charge $70.00 to send a "buy it now" item that costs $100.00.

Not sure how many of you that replied have sold on Ebay, but I speak from personal expirience in selling, I'm not a big seller, but I do not trick people, I say very upfront in bold print my S&H price along with a warning that if you do not agree with the S&H $, then don't bid. It's that easy. I have never had negative feedback from any buyer on my auctions. By the way Ebay has new rules on pulling auctions out, and for those of you who have never sold before take into account the Ebay seller fees, they are not pretty. Any time I sell something regardless of the the S&H the buyer is getting a great buy, considering the quality, price and use of the item, as I have very high standards.

jw parents will do just about anything to get their kids to be baptized as jws.
do they do this with the full knowledge that they will have to shun their children if they leave the organization?
is this a tactic that parents use to trap their children in the cult, basically using baptism as an form of insurance or guarantee that their kids will stay in the cult?.

JW parents use baptism as a means to exert control over their kids. I don't think they intentionally want to end up shunning their own kids, they just figure if they get baptized young they will stay in line and think twice about committing a sin or leaving the org. The society should not allow young kids to get baptized, but we all know that without this practice the org would have no growth.

i dont know how many of you attended a spanish speaking hall like i did but in my experience and from reading people's posts i think that there are some pretty big differences.

Big misconception here, Spanish congs are not more liberal, they are very much more conservative than the English congs, I think many people see the all the warmth between brothers and sisters like hugging and kissing and misconstrue it as liberal, when in fact it's just a cultural thing, same goes for the singing. I find that English congs are more stuffy in regards to the interpersonal skills, but generally the English folks are more liberal, try comparing an American JW parent to a Spanish JW parent and you will see the diffirence. In regards to the weddings I would have to agree that the Spanish just love to dance and will play salsa music, but they try to keep it toned down for the most part.
