  Protestors Greet Jehovah's Witnesses

  at the opening of the kamloops, british columbia convention on friday, protestors were there to meet those entering the interior savings center.

  one of the protestors, dale erhardt claimed to have been molested by a jehovah's witness while residing in ashcroft.

  Barbara and Kimberlee, Thanks for the info on the court date (or lack thereof). So it is the judge's responsiblity to set the date and it has yet to be set? I'm assuming that since this is a civil trial that things so slower? Could it be another year, more?

  WHAT MAKES YOU GLAD TO BE ALIVE.............?

  i live quite a mundane and often boring life..................due to circumstances beyond my control,.

  but a few times a week i think "im so glad im alive "..............its usually when i take the dog out for a walk and see the lovely enviroment that im blessed to live in.. but today we fixed some lights up round the garden and now its gone dark finally ( 12pm).

  they look so beautiful, i was stunned, a photo couldnt capture it.

  An unsolicited hug or kiss from my daughters.

  When I'm photographing a new mom and dad snuggling with their baby.

  I'm photographing dying hospice patients for a book to come out this fall. Working with them gives me the greatest sense of gratitude.

  Looking to hear your Service horror stories.

  mine.... i was about 10 years old, working with one of the pioneers in our hall, and we came across a gentleman that screamed obcenities at us and threatened to kill us unless we left his porch.

  i wet my pants.

  the pioneer i was with told me that i was a 'weak little witness that brought shame to jehovah for wetting my pants,' and that my punishment would be finishing out the morning's service with wet, piss stained pants.. it was february in toronto.

  Too many to recount. If I share the one the one that most shocked me it will give away my identity because I think the whole curcuit heard about it. It involved someone in the car group peeing, shivers...

  I got a lot of mentally ill individuals, angry and rabid dogs, "apostates," and a widely publicized child molester. Is there any wonder I won't allow my two young girls to go with their father in FS?

  Thank you. That just gave me the heeby jeebys, reading the files. Can you imagine the body of elders sitting around discussing the kind of porn they've watched. How's bringing the beers? I can hear it now, "Oh, that's okay, it least it wasn't gay men, then we'd have to remove you, he-he."

  I will never allow my daughters to attend a meeting with the elders when they get older. This is just very disturbing.

  Did you have a Witness approved car?

  when i was a witness, i was told that a responsible witness purchased a car that was able to be used in field service.

  as an example, it would have four doors to allow easy entry for a car group of 4 to 6 people.

  it was something that was not to showy, meaning it was not a lexus or something that would make it seem that witnesses were materialistic, especially when working a poor part of the community.

  My first car at age 16 was a Chevrolet Chevette 4-dr, LOL, so I could aux pion in the summer months of course. Every car after that has always been a four door because I had children when I left. However, now that I've been out long enough to actually make a decent living, I'm considering either the Mini Cooper Convertible or the Toyota Solara Convertible. Since I've been a little girl, I've always wanted a convertible and time is a wasting...

  Barbara, Thank you for posting this info. There attempts at hiding behind ecclesiastical law are hilarious. You know all I could think while reading your comments and the court reports was how the Watchtower talks about how in Rev. the governments will strip Babylon naked and take away all her resources. They should really look in the mirror.

  Do you know when the case will go to court? I noticed that this process took place last fall. I know that this stage can take quite a while.

  okay, well i'm another newbie but maybe i will find a few people to be appauled with me.

  i have been shunned by my entire family..father, 3 sisters and a brother, 4 aunts 5 uncles, and countless cousins.

  the best part of it is i'm not even df'd.

  I guess I will be the dissenting voice here. I still send cards and small gifts despite the shunning of my family. To me it says more than words every could. I always tell them in the cards and in updates I send them how wonderful our family (dh and girls) is doing however. I want them to know that despite their choice to be JWs (I used to be one) I still love them unconditionally. I know they appreciate the gifts, and that is all that matters to me ultimately.

  At a CA in St. Cloud, MN, the DO told an "atrocious" story of how a family had a party for young children from the hall that had a cake and balloons and gifts for each child. What kind of message did that send to the neighbors when they heard the children laughing and saw them leaving with gifts in their hands? How were they any different from their worldly neighbors who celebrate birthdays. What kind of lesson are we teaching our children in being seperate?

  I was pg with my first child at the time and was a strongly entrenched JW, I remember feeling this feeling of sadness rush over me for my future children's happiness and a mourning for my lost childhood.
