I've been curious sometimes just to go an assembly just for a day, just to see people who I knew and just check out the chicks. But I know I couldn't sit through it more than an hour.

Did You Ever Really Listen At The Meetings?
by minimus intoward the end of my meeting attendance, i started to pay attention (as best as i could) to what was being said and that was truly the final nail in the coffin.. when you actually decipher the "reasoning" of the "truth", you can't help but see things clearly..

This commercial illustrates why I envy those who didn't grow up in a JW household.
by miseryloveselders ini don't want to sound like i'm whining and for the record, i'm not mad at my parents at all.
i love them dearly, and i have many fond memories of my youth despite the jw upbringing.
at the same time, i often wonder what it would have been like to play sports during my school days.

It's never too late too learn. I love the guitar. I love going to live rock band shows. I bought myself a guitar a few months ago and I'm learning the basics so far.

My last meeting I got up and left in the middle of the Sunday talk. I couldn't take it anymore. I was 16 but I already had a car and driver's license. Still lived with my parents at the time so I know what was coming to me.
That was the best feeling I ever felt, to just get up on and finally decided that I had my own free will. Free as I will ever be :)

Call from elder
by XPeterX ini received a call a few hours ago from an elder.of course he didn't call me to ask how i was or if i needed help.instead he told me that "the youth and some older brothers" of my congregation will gather (at another elder's house, you see 2 elders to "get a hold of the situation") to talk about the "internet, facebook etc dangers".i told him that i will go.hmmm...it's going to be an interesting conversation..

People Who Refuse to Tip at Restaurants are Embarrassing!
by White Dove inegg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.
just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!
we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.

I usually tip 20% and if the service was very bad I leave 10%.
But I have eaten with people that don't believe in tipping, there was this one guy that after we paid everybody agreed to leave their own tip. He left 7 cents, yeahhh...7 cents. Everybody was looking at him like what the heck, and he was being serious! His excuse was that in his country they get paid less (and he was a JW!) LOL

Aren't You Embarrassed That YOU Ever Believed Any Of The Watchtower Bullsh*t?
by minimus ini do think about that and i realize that i should've gotten out sooner.
( i stayed in longer for various reasons).
but the last few years i knew it was bullsh*t!

Well not really embarrased but I do laugh at the things I used to believe.
