Congregation had to relocate Memorial...thanks to me
by Shepherd Book inso, the two local congregations were planning to hold their memorial together at 7:30 at the local community center, but they had to make a last-minute change to their own hall, and i'm pretty sure it was because of me.. let me explain.... at work on monday afternoon, a co-worker returned from her lunchbreak and showed me the memorial invitation that was waiitng in her door when she went home for lunch.
i noticed the sticker on the back indicated the memorial was being held, not at the local hall, but at the community center.
from a past (non-jw) event i attended there, i knew they didn't allow alcohol (unless you pay for security guards), so i wrote to the center's coordinator:.

That's really funny. I really doubt they would give them a pass even if no one partook because it would still be considered open container. And it would't be fair to the other church group who had to use non alchoholic wine.

"Perfect" JWs
by Ding inas we know, jws are constantly under pressure to conform more and more to wt expectations.. i was just thinking about a sister i used to know who always came across as the perfect jw portrayed in the literature: she never missed a meeting.
she pioneered.
she always had a look of contentment.

I need some advice please!!! I'm torn on what to do.
by Gojira_101 inthis morning i woke up thinking about a friend of mine, i will call her sara...here's some of the back story.. we grew up together and have always been good friends, even though we wouldn't stay in touch, we would just pick up where we left off.
sara has always been different, and i never really knew what it was growing up, but i didn't care, she was my friend.
so we lost touch for many years and then about 4 yrs ago when i went back to my home town, we reconnected.

What makes you think she needs reaching out? Sounds like she's doing just fine.
A real friend wouldn't be "torn" about contacting another friend.

Why are atheists so intent on scorning "believers"?
by Chariklo inuntil recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.
