Teejay, I like what you said about Bush as the "Great Delegator", that sure fits him. I like him, he came to the presidency with no baggage from previous political appointments. Unlike William Jefferson Clinton, he didn't screw the people of his state, unlike
Bore..er..excuse me Gore his state voted for him and he took it. Some of the things he does makes him very likeable. I like the fact the he screws up when talking, at least we don't have to parsce every thing he says. With 20 plus years of military service, one of the things we learn in leardership schools and supervisory schooling, is to delegate delegate and delegate again while keeping overall responsibility for what happens. not since Harding
by teejay inin a recent magazine article, the author follows a long line of others by arriving at the same conclusion whenever the subject is breeched.
he said that current u.s. president george walker bush was "the most manifestly ill-qualified candidate thrown up by a major party since warren harding.".
while i must admit that i know little of president harding, in my lifetime no president (or candidate) prior to gwbush was ever as under-qualified for the office.

HIT with a Hammer
by Amazing inin conjunction with my appeal for calm, i might add that when we are working on a construction project and hit our thumb with the hammer, we might scream, cuss, and throw the hammer at something out of a sense of anger with the event and with ourselevs.. if my co-wroker hits me with the hammer, then i might turn and take a swing at him out of an immediate reactive sense to defend myself.
likely, i might cuss him out, scream, and threaten.. as the pain subsides, i might then start to calm, and look at what happened and determine needs to take place.
i could accept an apology and move on, or if i thought it was deliberate action on his part, i might take it to the boss and get some sense of justice.. our nation, and really all good nations, were hit with a hard hammer tuesday.

Deacon, Hi I sometimes enjoy your posts and sometimes not, that is life, however with all that has happened since Tuesday, many people have vented here on this forum.
We however as a nation have to do something, closing our eyes and taking away freedoms we have earned through bloodshed isn't what I call taking care of the problem.
It seems to me that the authorities, i.e. this administration and government seem to want to start sniping at our liberties. If in fact the administration has more information that we don't, then I believe that we should know if they know that more attacks are planned. Just maybe we can be alert and take action we deem necessary.
I for one am not ready to give up any of our liberties, this bs i keep hearing about the airports is just another step toward taking away our personal liberty. I keep hearing we our under attack and that is more bs under attack where, it was an act of terrorism, is that the excuse thats needed to replace liberty with no liblerty.
I do know this, if people had been armed on those airplanes those bastards wouldn't have been able to do what they did. In fact it surprises me that they can take over an aircraft with only knives for christ sake. Weren't there any men around there, or is everyone so conditioned to having someone else take care of them they can no longer stand up and take care of things. Those on the one aircraft seem to have done so and they are true heros in my estimation.
I believe like the hammer thing amazing mentioned we have to use a hammer on the terrorist wherever they are, just like a carpenter uses a hammer on nails not on the surrounding wood. This administration needs to put its efforts into finding out just who was involved and putting and end to them then we will have security, but harassing people at the airports, violating their rights against unlawful search and seizure isn't they way to do it. We weren't the guilty party and i for one don't like being treated like i was the guilty one(s). My safety my ass, make them feel unsafe don't make me feel as if I have been imprisoned in my own country. Just my venting today. Buff

The WTBTS actually helping someone not a Jdub???? Tell me does anyone know if they are flying the American Flag (not) and if so are they flying it at halfmast????
Have the presses stopped rolling and all who wish to or are encouraged to helping with the recovery effort???? Are the kitchens open 24 hours a day and food being donated to the relief effort.
Are any of these things taking place? I truly hope so, but my guess would be no, not them. Buff

TALIBAN ASKS for MERCY!
by Amazing inin afghanistan, the so-called faction claiming to be the ruling party over the nation is urging (politicalese term for begging) the usa not to bomb them.
why ask not to be bombed unless they are guilty of harboring the wicked terrorists?
read for yourself.

Well Amazing it seems the playing field (so to speak) is being cleared. It the afghani government had no part in this then whey haven't they given up this monster????? Seems they would rather risk the lives of their countrymen than give him up. Hand and glove with him seems to me no matter what his history with thier country. If he wasn't involved then he should seek a meeting with U.S. officials in afghani and let them know where he stands. He would still be in the country, and if not guilty then he should help to find them. He wont and they won't so retribution however preceived may infact fall and then again may not. Remains to be seen. Buff

NATO INVOKES ARTICLE V - Serious
by Amazing inwhen nato invokes article v, it is more than just one member asking for support from the other member states, but article v invocation means all member states view the attack as an attack on them all.
in other words, nato aliance is at war with those responsible, and will support the us lead, which will now hold not only the terrorists responsible, but hold those nations that host them as equally responsible.. "brussels, belgium (cnn) -- nato has unanimously declared the hijack attacks on the u.s. to be an assault against all member states.".
"it is the first time in 52 years that the alliance has invoked article v -- the nato self-defence charter that says if one member state is under attack all other member nations would defend it.".

Amazing I agree 100% with you, I'm a little old, my eyes aren't what they use to be, but I can still pull a trigger (been there did that) and to placate these bastards whoever they are is asinine.
Pathofthorns and Mad just need to fall to thier knees, pull thier pants down spread thier cheeks feel afraid and tell em to penetrate them, what a bunch of babies.
We need to stand firm and supportthe President (not obscenely accuse him of prior knowledge of this act) and give him and his administration our support. If you can't do that, then maybe you should be chasing brick walls at high speed until you drop. Buff

two buildings ..how many people?
by FiveShadows ini heard that there were 50,000 people...now is that in both buildings combined?
or just one building?
becuse i know after the first building was hit...they started to evacuate the second building and everyone got out, or did i hear wrong?
-
buffalosrfree
I heard that 50,000 in both building, not counting the many visitors that go there. Also there are those making deliveries to the buildings to be recokened with too. So no count as to how may were evacuated in time. Only guestimations of the possible body count. This is a tragic episode in the history of man and to have any group of people dancing in the streets over it speaks volumes. I hope congress takes a real hard look and ends any aide given to those countries if we give them aid at all. Arabic aid has to be one of the top things on the agenda, if they don't speak up for us, then in my mind they are against us, and any nonsupport publicly not shown must also come to account on aid given. Outdoor Asemblies in Brutal Heat..Why?
by Room 215 ini don't know whether anyone's raised this topic before, but i don't understand why the society persists in scheduling these summer assemblies out of doors, often in some of the most unhospitable weather and locations known to man.. over the years, i've heard countless stories about people fainting, and even dying in the sweltering heat, and this includes infants who dehydrate.
it all seems so pointless when the wts now owns and operates so many air concitioned buildings of its own, and and where suitable indoors sites are readily available for rent.. philadelphia is one case in point: why insist on using the vet stadium when there is a plethora of indoor facility options all over the northeast?
are they so callous and indifferent to the friends' well-being?

Yes, I too, Hated the dreaded DCs espeically those at the first or mid June. Did they even have a clue as to the heat? I don't think they care, it would be too hard to set them up in the fall. I didn't go this year and probably will only attend in the future to keep wife company if I attend at all. I found most of them boring, and non motivating and that was when i believed, now they are beyond boring and only opportunities to snooze. As far as hotels in the ghetto, they must be listening to Elvis Presley's music when it comes time to set up the hotel accomodations. Buff

A wake up call alright, but not for the UFDS or the zombies, that comment from one asshole about going to prison first rather than joining, It seem to me just another org thing to harbour cowards, those afraid to stand up. Well it is time to be counted, and we can see the Societies bastard followers slinking away. May they all meet bubba in the pen!!!! If someone has the phone ##s to WTBTS it would be comical to call them pretend that hyour from such and such hospital and ask if they have any volunteers there to give blood and to help out. Yes its time to make a stand. If you are not for the country during a time like this then your are clearly on the side of the attackers and should be treated as such. Buff

ex-JW's : Would you go to war?
by Jim Lad inmy ex-brother in law phoned this morning and asked me how i felt about going to war now that i'm not in the org anymore.
with so many years of being told not to i wonder how many of us still feel that way.

Been there and done that, 20+ years in the military, multiple tours in Vietnam, Yes I would go again, I think at times i'm reverting back to my feeling and outlook of my early years. No mercy, kill em, stomp em, People that laugh at the death of innocents need no mercy either.
I'm afraid I'm too old, but if asked would go again, gets the ole juices flowing so to speak. buff
