last night my wife said she was thinking about quitting the truth.she says she finds it too hard with me having doubts and not wanting to be a jw anymore.she has also been burned by her few jw friends,and the rest are either disfellowshipped or getting divorced.it's really hard to build lasting relationships with such people in the religion.. another positive factor is that she has made 2 good "worldly" friends over the past year.i think she's starting to see that people on the outside can be nice,have morals and accept others as they are.. i hope in time she starts feeling good about this decision and that i can slowly show her the many errors of the wts.so far she agrees with many of the things i've told her but still believes it's the truth.it's a hard battle but i never tought i'd hear her say those words.. btw,she finally called a local elder to see if he can help me with my many questions.he's coming over tonight so it should be quite interesting.i think he'll be a little surprised at some of the direct questions i have;i'm also hoping that after a while he decides there's not much hope for me and just labels me an apostate and starts talking about df'ing me.that would show my wife their attitude towards answering questions that have no scriptural answers.. anyways,i'll do my best to keep you all up-dated.it can be hard to post as my wife diesn't know i come here on a regular basis.. goldminer
When the elders came over for my last "sheperding call", it became easier to see that I was making the right choice. Once I told the elders face to face that I no longer believed in "The Truth" it was like a huge weight that was lifted off my shoulders.
Hopefully with your discussion with the elders, you can show your wife "The Truth" about the BORG

I wasnt allowed to watch the "Smurf's due to comments made at the meeting about how they are full of demons. Also the garbage pal kids were off limits but I dont remember why. I wonder what the BORG has to say about Harry Potter, if the smurfs were bad, then Potter must be probably directy created by satan.
Any offical comments on The Harry Potter books or movies????

we moved into an apartment on the 2nd floor.
we were jws at the time, and the family on the first floor under us was studying.. the girl downstairs started hearing noises during the night and finally hearing steps up to the side of her bed.
she was so scared she hadn't slept in a while and was so tired.
"how do we know if there aren't other realms or dimensions out there where creatures unseen reside? could their possibly be a realm with "angels and gods" too complex for us to comprehend? can the ants comprehend us?"
That's a great point, we could be living among spirts or other creatures that the 10% used portion of our brains just can comprehend. I have had a couple of "spirit" encounters over the years, although none nearly as good as the one written about here. Being out of the Borg and taking religion completely out of my life has only encouraged me to explore the endless possibilities of reality. Being free is really a great rush!!!

what do most ex jws become, christian, athiest/agnostic or some other religion?
and since we all need to be labelled, what do i call myself now?
If I had to label it I would say agnostic. I really don’t know, but what I do know is that you don’t need organized religion to make you a fulfilled person. I love studying Buddhism and find my self leaning towards mediation as my way to feel spiritually connected.

i've recently begun to observe the mood-altering abilities of kingdom melodies, when played at meetings and assemblies.
after hyping up the audience for hours at a convention, a melody like, "we thank you jehovah" has the ability to make everyone all fuzzy and happy.
some even have tears in their eyes.. before a meeting, a kingdom melody is usually played quietly in the background, but it sets the mood.
ok, god says you can't go to heaven or stay on the earth but he will put you in a movie forever to be who you want to be.ok so what movie do you choose?

just bored so i thought i would ask!
I would have to go with Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi. He gets to fly spaceships, has an awesome weapon and what could be better than having the force. I would use my Jedi powers to open the minds of JW's and my lightsaber to take care of any of the governing body (sith lords) who got in my way.

tonights episode of the simpsons was about homer's prophecies for the end of the world.
in classic simpson's style they bash apocalyptic cults and the idea of an upcoming armaggedon.
it was great when they showed homer coming up with his date for the end of the world; it sounded a lot like the watchtower's version.

I know how you feel. I feel ashamed sometimes when I think how blind I was. At least when Homer refigured his caculations after his first date failed everyone stopped believing in him. To bad thats not true of the Borg.
