  i have my own explaination, but it is quite radical and so.

  Ok Here goes

  These Scriptures make unison "if" we exclude Matt 24: 7,8 and its
  counterpart in Luke from the sign of the end.

  For example in verse 6 it says dont be worried if you here of wars or
  reports of wars but the end is not yet. What if in vs 9 and 10 he
  is actually continuing this saying 'there is always going to be
  nations rising against nations and famines and earthquakes, and
  these things are painful'

  and after that he talks about the sign.

  People have always considered wars and earthquakes and droughts as
  signs from God of impending doom, and maybe Jesus was saying this time
  that that it not the case and that the end is NOT signaled by wars and
  famines and earthquakes, but the first sign is serious persecution.

  of course god cannot be put on trial by humans, and i doubt that he would submit to any subpoena from a human court.

  but, what if we were able to do such a thing?

  I vote no, he owns the bat and ball and he wont let us play anymore.

  Seriously though, in this argument there are too many unknowns for
  us to make a valid decision.

  The start is : What exactly does it mean to be made in Gods image?
  Forget what theologians and the WTBTS say, the bible doesnt say much.

  What really went on in the garden, the bible story is very simplistic
  and one could easily imagine that it took more than 2 sentences from
  a snake.

  And why did Eve not run back to Adam and say "Hey I just found a
  talking snake"? and why didnt Adam run back and talk to the snake?

  See, too much we just dont know. But when I get my time machine
  working, I'll find out, come back and let you all know.

  god i hated it..every living breathing minute of it.

  it was pure hell for me, and based on the pace i see the jws all over the world moving, they aint so fond of it neither.

  the persecution that the jws feel they get is from irritated householders who know nothing about their religion except that they hit people over the head with it and then judge them because they dont like being hit over the head with it.

  Also, once the generation changed and the end could literally be
  a thousand years away, I basically dropped off the earth as far as
  FS was concerned. As I said to an elder, once it no longer means a
  time, the end is no longer urgent.

  I loved the reply though.

  "The end is closer than it was a year ago"

  Duuh: so is the year 5288158258

  I hated the field service, with a passion. however after having
  experienced root canal and its torture, I must say that I would
  take FS as the lesser of two evils. But it's close.

  I regular pioneered for 2 years and was quite good at it, but the
  brothers usually would see me a young man, and pioneer and pick me
  as the odd one out in uneven groups, ie, I had to work on my own
  a lot. If only they knew the sheer terror it put me through until
  the first few doors were over.

  My lovely wife used to take the first doors for me because although
  she didnt like it, she didnt want me to suffer the agony.

  I havent gone on FS for over 4 years and to be honest, if I never
  do it again, it will be too soon.

  BTW I tried selling, but it gives me the same terror.

  "Questions from Readers

  In the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshiped, how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?-P. C., Ontario, Canada.

  We are not living today among theocratic nations where such
  members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated
  for apostasy from God and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of Israel in the wilderness
  of Sinai and in the land of Palestine. "Thou shalt surely kill him;
  thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards
  the hand of all the people.

  And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought
  to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, . . . And all Israel shall
  hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is
  in the midst of thee."-Deut. 13:6-11, AS.

  Millions Baptized Unscripturally

  according to wtbts baptism is public display of personal dedication.. in 1975 when i was baptized, the 2 "public" questions that i agreed.

  to, to get baptized were.. 1. have you recognized yourself before jehovah god as a sinner who .

  In 1975 when I was baptized, the 2 "public" questions that I agreed
  to, to get baptized were.

  1. Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who

  salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?

  2. On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God

  of the holy spirit?"

  Which can be seen as being baptized according to Matt 28:19,20 that is
  baptizing in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  Since 1985 however, the public declaration that those baptized now
  make is answering in the affirmative to:

  1. On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you
  repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do
  his will?

  2. Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify
  you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with
  God's spirit-directed organization?

  In this I see only the Father, the Son and the WTBTS.

  This seems quite unscriptural and also immoral. That is, taking a
  symbol of dedication directed to Jehovah and taking part of it for
  ones self ie the WTBTS.

  At the very least, it is akin to Moses and the rock crag. But in
  actuality, since it is not a thing done on the spur of the moment
  during an angering time, but is planned and written down for years,
  then it becomes blasphemy.

  New Elders Handbook

  hi everyone.. i have just got back to england after a four week sd course at brooklyn.

  during the course we got a look at the manuscript of the new unnamed ks01 elders manual, this time instead of just 3 chapters covering jc's there will be 7 covering everything you can think of and more.

  the book will be released to all serving travelling overseers and service deck personnel in aug 01 and all elders in dec01 at the kms .. as soon as i receive mine in aug i will download any relevant points.

  I have a question.

  Do you sit on any Judicial Commities for apostasy?

  If so, how does it make you feel being that you see more things here than you are supposed to see and you are more involved in the "outside" than you "should" be?
