i think that the way jw treats women is absolutely terrible!!!!!
makes me want to confront them and give the powers that be a taste of the same medicine they dish out.
how can the be so cold and insensitive to treat another human being this way for any reason and try to justify with the words of the bible.
no doubt about it, all women are second class citizens in the borg. and dont let anyone tell you differently. its a shameful org run by small minded men.
i personally knew women in the borg that were more christian,spiritual, kind, and immensley more intelligent than most of if not all the elders.
yes they can pioneer, and do all the work most of them dont, or cant do, but they want the glory of the platform.may they reap what they sow. mr.alw

joyzabel, you said a jw cant get df for taking blood, maybe in usa, but i know personally one woman here in aussie did, maybe its up to local elders, who knows what goes on their minds!

maggie, sorry to hear about your cousin, go to the hospital to see if you can help, even jws cant stop you visiting your cousin, its only proper.
the reason they dont allow blood transfusions is that some men in america called the governing body make all the decisions for the jws, you have to try to understand that you will be dealing with a cult.
they have twisted scriptures in the bible to say that blood is not acceptable.if your cousin does die as you say he may, then yes you certainly can go to the funeral.

my book came in last week and i picked it up on thursday.i was nowhere near as nervous as when i purchased crisis of conscience.so far i've read the first 2 chapters and i will definitely learn a lot from this book,it's a real gem of spiritual truths and christian freedom.. while i was in the christian bookstore picking up my book i took the time to order 2 more books.. -the gentile times reconsidered.
-combatting cult mind control.
i'm looking forward to reading those also.hopefully i can subtely share some of this material with my family members who are still deeply brainwashed by the wts.. goldminer

.....................i received an sms from mrs ozzie last night informing me that ozzie is having an extremely risky operation on wednesday morning, 8am australian time.
i can't give more details at this stage as to the procedure due to confidentiality but i can assure you it is going to be dangerous!
mrs ozzie said that it had to be done despite the risk.. so if all of us here could take a moment tomorrow and send positive thoughts.

Hi - yes I was absolutely bowled over when we got copies off the net actually proving WTBS had been a member of the UN. Then after reading CofC and taking in the Mexico/Malawi tragedy I was extremely angry and disappointed that I had believed in a pure way of worship and been duped by men!!! alw - (thankfully I'm not the only gullible one).
i've just been to a big conference where we discussed retention of members and statistically lds lose most members (in the uk anyway) as follows: .
1/ 14 -18 (largest group) - i think it was 30% .
2/ new converts (next largest) - in the front door and straight out the back.
Hi ours was number 3 - injustice and offended - thankfully did us a favour as we found out once we were out all the hypocrisy and lies - a job well done on their part. We're enjoying our life, family and freedom once again - it took 22 years though!!! alw
i am reading crisis of conscience and am wondering what goes through people's minds when they read it, i am on about page 115. i find it slow reading because of the way it is written.
even though i have been out of the org for going on 20 years, i am a little shocked at some of the stuff i'm reading and i feel like it shouldn't shock me.
i remember when i was a jw, how the governing body was put on a pedestal; everyone assumes they spend all their time studying and praying over matters from a scriptural standpoint.
I was given a copy of CoC by my daughter when I was still a JW although not attending meetings very regularly!!! It was a definite eye-opener and allowed me to express the feelings I had been harbouring. I just couldn't believe the things I was reading - but saying that it actually brought closure to the 'jw' appendage of my life. I mentioned it to my husband and from then on we actually never went to another meeting. It gave us the freedom we hungered for but also made us realise that we had done 'nothing wrong' scripturally to warrant the underhandedness we had experienced from the borg. I am now enjoying the 'sequel' SfCFand am finding it fascinating. Very liberating. When leaving the borg confusion actually sets in that 'nothing' is true and will you ever trust or believe in anything again - in time I think we will and this book helps to solidify that in ones mind. Thankyou Ray - you saved my family unit and we have our daughter back and her little family - thankyou. alw
this might sound funny but i have heard many stories of jw's fighting in the kh bathroom or arguing.
i remember an elder's wife who was having alot of medical problems cursed out another sister in the bathroom.
she called her everything but the kitchen sink i was told by another sister that was in the bathroom when this altercation took place.
never seen a fight but plenty of shouting.
once when i was a m.s. i was talking to a young dub encouraging him to come witnessing with our group the following week.this was during the w.t. rubbish, we were in the fowyer speaking very quietly.
we were there on guard duty,security.
when the meet finished the elder conducting w.t. came straight out to us shouting as loudly as possible that we had disturbed his part, went off his nut,everyone was stunned,no one on back rows heard us talking so he never did being in front hall.
i told him to go into the back room with me and sort his problem out.
after calming him down he said it wasnt that we disturbed him but he was having a go at me because i was friendly with another elder he didnt get on with.
at that time the cong was split in two camps, 3 elders and their followers sat one side of hall, and the others sat the other side,we sat on various sides so as not to give impression we were on any particular side,that day we sat on the other side of hall.big mistake,lol
in the end he apologised and we didnt get on too bad after that. mr.alw
