I would ask how it is that the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" has received no adverse Judgement despite the "Slave" having "reviled" (1 Cor. 5:11; 6:9,10) the Associated Bible Students as the "Evil Slave" all the 93 years of its (F&DS) appointment. Also, why people who have only been appointed to provide spiritual food and have not been appointed over the Lord's belongings feel free to judge others before the "due time". (1 Cor. 4:5)

From the notes:
Blessed arrangement, till death of apostles who acted as a 'restraint'. Then apostasy flourished. During that time, no consistent channel existed. Only changed after 1914 when the 'growing season' ended.
So, evidently, when Jesus stated: "I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things" (Matt. 28,20), he really meant --
'YOU're on your own until I return to appoint someone to feed YOU in my absence during my presence.' (?)

What Made You Question "The Truth"?
by minimus inin the the early 1970's, i used to enjoy going to assemblies, conventions and hear special talks given by bethel heavies.. in those days, we were believers and we applied ourselves as "ministers" with pride.. once the "end" was obviously not within our "generation", many of us started losing interest.. we started to think more critically.
it took a long time but once you start recognizing the bullsh*t, it's hard to stay in and truly believe at the same time.. .

There were a number of Watchtower doctrines I had rejected over the years. But that wasn't enough.
One day I realized I really didn't want my children or my non-Witness friends to be(come) Witnesses.
And then I wondered why that was...

(Recycled old post [23. Oct. 2006]:)
W 01. April 1986 QfR:
Do we have Scriptural precedent for taking such a strict position? Indeed we do! Paul wrote about some in his day: "Their word will spread like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of that number. These very men have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred; and they are subverting the faith of some." (2 Timothy 2:17, 18; see also Matthew 18:6.) There is nothing to indicate that these men did not believe in God, in the Bible, in Jesus’ sacrifice. Yet, on this one basic point, what they were teaching as to the time of the resurrection, Paul rightly branded them as apostates, with whom faithful Christians would not fellowship.
This is most fascinating. When the F&DS was supposedly appointed in 1919, the Watch Tower Society was still teaching that the Resurrection had begun in 1878 -- a teaching not altered until 1927 -- and which teaching the WTS now rejects as false. Does it not bugger the imagination to believe the Lord appointed over all his belongings an organisation that (by its own published standard) would be 'rightly branded apostate, with whom faithful Christians would not fellowship'?

First question: Where are the Great Crowd rendering sacred service day and night? The "Great Crowd" is in the naos ( en tw naw ) according to Rev. 7:15.
The naos itself is specifically stated to be in Heaven in Rev. 11:19; 14:17; and 15:5. Ergo, the "Great Crowd" serves in Heaven.

Crisis of Conscience, Apostacy and the Antichrist
by konceptual99 ini've just finished reading coc and it's truely a thought provoking book that's given me much to think about.. one thing that has struck me is the way rf was disfellowshipped and how he tried to reason with the elders on the jc.
a key point of reasoning was that how the elders could define the disassocated one he ate with as "the antichrist" or one practicing the things described in 1 cor 9. apparently the elders either remain silent on the matter or said it was not for them to judge.. i thought the reasoning was really sound but i have been doing some checking on the definition of apostacy and the antichrist according to the society and it seems pretty clear to me that anyone guilt of apostacy becomes part of the antichrist.
characteristics of apostacy as defined in the it-1 book are described as follows:.

Yet, when the shoe is on the other foot...
The Watch Tower Society also other things to say about "antichrists". When defending the Organisation against the accusations of the Greek Orthodox Church the Watchtower stated: "What does the Bible say of 'antichrist'? At 1 John 2:22 it states: 'Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.' Thus, the plain fact of God's inspired Word is that an antichrist does not accept Jesus. But Jehovah's Witnesses do! ... So anyone who says that Jehovah's Witnesses are 'antichrist' either is badly misinformed, is blinded by prejudice, or has evil motive." (Watchtower, 01. December 1986, pp.5-6)
Clearly, the Watch Tower Society likes having it both ways...

The Jehovah's Witnesses Church is not the Catholic Church, that it has had verdict after verdict after verdict over the years. It's been in the press. We are all aware of it.
Yes, you were very aware of it. You admit it. And your knowledge of it makes you more culpable, not less. You knew full well the implications of doing nothing whatsoever to protect the children from these predators. But you chose to do nothing.
You disgust me.

Response to the notion that 'apostates like to pick at JHVH's organization'
by sd-7 ini was just thinking of something i read recently, a thread about the district convention talk, that mentioned how 'apostates' are always picking at 'the organization'.
i just had a thought about that.. pick up any copy of the watchtower or awake!
or any other publication the watchtower society publishes, and more than likely, in every single one of them, there will be several statements made against all other christian religions, all religions in general, or the scientific community so far as it conflicts with jehovah's witnesses' doctrines.

"Any organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism."
Except the Watch Tower Society, of course.
Even when they invite you to do so:
"Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a “prophet” of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show?" ( w72 4/1 p. 197)
