So today. People may persecute jws and make up stories about them or exaggerate shameful acts that do occur in jw camp. But we expect this kinda treatment. We will rise in spite of it.
You might notice that the Bible said they were persecuted for the name of JESUS. It's safe to say this is not the case with Jehovah's Witnesses now. Having policies favorable to child molesters has nothing to do with Jesus or his name and exposure of such is not persecution. It's Justice.
Jesus said you are blessed when they speak all manner of things against you UNJUSTLY. No points for when the accusations are just.

over the past week since i've announced that i was stepping down i have had a few conversations with my family, and against my better judgement i mentioned that i was having doubts.
invariably almost every discussion about the jw religion eventually boils down to the argument that only witnesses are doing this or that.
unfortunately this is a weak part of my debate, i have only been associated with the jw religion so i have very little information on what other religions beleive and practice.

All this time it pointed to a person (Christ) "whom" and never to a religion (to where). There is a big difference between "to whom" and "to where"

this was an accurate assessment on her part though i didn't acknowlege that.

here's what i'm hearing:.
the dateline show is beating a dead horse brought up by malcontents.. it brings up a dead issue because the society is sending out.
letters in child abuse cases to go to the police - in individual.
lv4fer-->OK so maybe there won't be a mass exodus, but even if only a few see the light and get out it would be worth it. Also think of all the non-JW people that will watch, they will think twice about studying with them. It will hurt the list of possible converts<<
I agree with that and it is important to consider. The many non-JW's that will be watching this will be more informed about the people who are coming to their doors and will remember this when considering a study. It should make them think twice about opening the door.

it seems like everyday we're seeing new names here on the board.
there are so many posts it's hard ot keep up, and keeping the posters seperated is just impossible.. i forget sometimes that people are leaving the wts everyday, and certainly a bunch of them end up here.
but, is there any data showing the number of new posters?.

i once had a friend who had racial epithets hurled at her by a white man.
he was not the only one who showed himself to be a racist.
she also went to get a job at a huge prominent corporation in a prosperous country and she did not get the job because she was a certain color.
