Makes me think of the scene in Titanic where the mom is tucking her little ones into bed knowing they will all die. She is reading to them, cuddling them and rubbing their hair trying to make their last little bit of life as peaceful and painless as possible.
I would spend my last day with my children and my husband enjoying eachothers company.

That's disgusting. I'm sure that elder cannot point to a single instance where Jesus behaved deceptively to further God's purpose.
What this makes me think of is the Jehovah's Witnesses And Child Custody booklet that instructs children to lie or be deceitful with their testimony on the stand to mislead the judge.
It boggles my mind to think that some people are foolish enough to think that just because somebody who was a follower of God did something in the Bible that makes it acceptable behaviour. Those people were imperfect just as are we. Why should the fact that they did something wrong be justified or twisted to make it seem right?

I believe I can relate to that statement. My daughter is in that same mindset. I feel like she is constantly feeling like she needs to measure up to either her dad's or my expectations of her and his expectations are so high! I don't want her to always feel like she is falling short of the mark or that she is disappointing her dad. I want her to know she is a good person and it is not always about what dad wants or what mom wants. Some things are about what she wants and she does not need to feel guilty for wanting something different.
I know when I was little I always felt like I was responsible for my dad's happiness. It was a heavy burden for a little girl to bear. She will realize someday that it is he that should be empowering her to be happy (not vice versa).
I hope all goes well with church this weekend. Give her hugs for me and my daughter Lexi. Maybe they can chat online together sometime. I'm sure that Lexi would love it.
a few years ago my brother - law admitted that at 14 he had a sexual relationship for 5 years with the wife of an elder in his congo.. he was at 19 dfed for an affair he had with a fellow student.. he never told any one about the affair with the married sister, but now 10 years later, this sister and her unsufferable husband are planning to become assistant co. .
my mother - law, who is still in the"lie" now knows about this affair and has made the statement that she has probable asked for forgiveness in her heart therefore the elders do not need to know of the affair.. my brother - law is going through his own issues and because of the way he has been treated ie.. shunned, basically disowned by most of his family, he wants to expose her and her husband who he believes knew about the affair.. i've recommended that he discuss this with his therapist and that he should think about why he feels the need to expose her now.
by the way this sister is 2 year younger than his mom.
Tough situation...
While in my opinion the sex was consentual because it lasted until he was 19 years old it was also child abuse and it was completely inappropriate. I do not believe any grown woman who has an affair with a 14 year old should go without having any consequences. Dubs or not this woman should be exposed and she should be made to suffer the consequences of carrying on a relationship with a 14 year old boy whose mother was only 2 years older than she. Being a COs wife will definitely put her in an elevated position with other youngsters and whose to say this wont or has not happened again?
Possibly your brother-in-law has issues steming from this affair and he should be allowed to go through the healing process. Maybe exposing her and getting this all off his chest is just one step in his healing process? He needs to do what he needs to do to be able to move on.
She will most certainly deny the accusation though. Does he have any proof? Is he prepared to be made out to be a liar should she deny any and all accusations? The JWs are not going to take any action unless there are 2 or more witnesses to the affair.
At least if the issue is made public she could be considered as not being free from accusation, which might prevent her husband and she from becoming COs.

Tonight I will be hanging with my hubby whose been desperately applying and interviewing for a new job. I will be trying to cheer him up and remind him to be patient for the job offers I know he will eventually be getting.
God love him he works so hard and he's just so anxious to find something so he can "take care of the family". I have to keep reminding him that the whole reason the family is taken care of and not in need of anything is because of him and it will all work out. Being unemployed is just so hard on a man who wants so badly to handle it.
Anywho... We will probably do dinner and a movie.

It was a small step for mankind but a large step for my daughter... She wanted to go on some website where she could put together fashion looks for some kind of dolls that are popular now. I believe they are called "My Scene" dolls. She mentioned to me the fact that I had bought her one for her birthday. Who knew?
She is most certainly going to be a handful at 16 with her "bad self" but I am also hoping she is a normal handful minus that cult influence . I was a handful and would not expect anything less. She's actually already becoming quite the handful. I'm sure it will eventually be her downfall with the dub relatives (especially with her passive-agressive controlling PO grandfather).
It was just such a shocker to hear her say "I am not a Jehovah's Witness" because up until recently she has always said, "Because I'm a Jehovah's Witness" whenever anyone asked her why she could or could not do something in school (holidays, etc.). I am glad to see that my grinding it into her head that "Just because your dad is a Jehovah's Witness does not mean you need to be one also. I chose not to be a Jehovah's Witness and I am now a Christian. You will eventually decide how you want to worship God when you are older. For now you are a child experiencing life." is working.
