  The misapplication of the ever increasing light

  one of the favourite verses of the wts is proverbs 4:18 which they totally distort, as they often do with the bible, in a very casual and irresponsible manner.

  the verse there talks about the lifestyle of the righteous which is like an ever increasing light and juxtaposes it with the way of the wicked in verse 19 which is always like darkness where they can't see where they going and may stamble on obstacles along it.

  18 "but the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

  ya know... i'm a bit amazed at times at how utterly out of touch with reality jw's can be.

  here's a little bit of a background of what's been going on....

  i've been having an on going issue with my jw family about my husband & i(and our 4 young children) no longer going to meetings and us having questions/problems with this religion.we are not df'd nor da'd (at this point) but have not been to a meeting in about 7 months and have been inactive for probably 3-4 years now.we haven't lived near my parents for several years so they have been a little "in the dark" so to speak as to us being inactive but we kinda were given a bit of "lee-way" since 5 yrs.

  I'm with Mouthy....at least you and your husband are on the same page. Things would be SO much more difficult if that wasn't the case. You have each other to lean on . From the sounds of it, you're doing a wonderful job raising your family and being happy. Don't let ANYONE make you feel bad about that....
  How horrible and sad that you had to be subjected to this kind of crazy talk by a relative!!! I'm so sorry!

  My experience has been that J-dubs don't really understand the teachings in the Revelation book. Their eyes glaze over.

  BUT they are glad that their organization has the answers, and are more than happy to read a paragraph or two to prove it.....even though they don't comprehend what they just read. "FAITH" - they say. We have to have faith.....

  i'm joining everyone from the bowels of the sun princess, a ship belonging to the princess cruise lines.

  about an hour and a half ago, we left the port of seattle for alaska.

  my grandmother sent me and my grandfather on this trip for a graduation present.

  i'm obsessed with new cars.

  i'd trade a $50,000 car for a brand new $40,000 one the year after, and trade it again for a $30,000 brand new one the year later, and trade it again for a $20,000 one year after that.

  as long as i get a new one every year or so, i love the feeling, even if it's less equipped.

  I'm obsessed with planning things. I need to know what I'm doing in an hour, a day, a week ... a month from now. I've already planned my whole summer away It can get a bit annoying for others, I'm sure. But at least I have everything I want to accomplish figured out and it'll get done.

  I'm also obsessed with my husband!!! We've been married for almost 5 years now, and I still feel like a newly wed.

  Well, I've checked out the site Beautifulisfree is talking about. I can definitely see various images. When you mirror the picture it fits together TOO perfectly and too many images pop out to be a mistake. You can even turn it up side down and you see more images.

  I also found other JW publications where there are occult images in clothing, people hands, trees etc. Why on earth would these images be necessary for the society to include in the drawings ? It's just to freaky to be a coincidence.

  gosh, i feel like minimus.

  except, i will submit said question and my answer...... even though my hair is starting to grow back, see pic in other thread, i am still not ok walking around with 1/4 inch hair.

  my husband and i were both raised and baptized as jehovah's witnesses.

  my husband was an elder for over 15 years.

  during those years when he was an elder, our eyes began to be opened to what was going on behind the scenes, that their organization was more political than biblical.
