'Other sheep' being cleansed
by kwintestal in.
i was just wondering where the wts gets the idea of the 'other sheep' who survive the 'great tribulation' becoming cleansed.. i know revelations speaks specifically of the 144,000 "washing themsleves in the blood of the lamb", thereby becomming cleansed, or perfect.. the wts teaches that the 'other sheep' become cleansed gradually over the 1,000 year reign, but wouldn't they themselves need to be washed clean (obviously symbolic) in jesus' blood somehow?.

On a side note:
Notice where the "great crowd" comes from. From out of the tribulation.
I have asked elders why it is that the "great crowd" here mentioned is NOT idenified before the tribulation. It's only after.
How then is it that JW's can use the term "great crowd" to apply to themselves???? Still waiting for an answer........

Oh man.. does that bring back memories....
2 Cor 12:2-4 was the WT discussion(meeting) not too long ago. At the time, I was still attending.
I raised my hand and said:
IF Paul was in a "spiritual paradise", why is it that he needed to have a "vision"? Wouldn't he just have to look around? So the first century congregation was not in paradise, just like we are not today.
The KH was silent.......

Gringojj - I'm with everybody else.
Write up the list of questions and post for everyone. I'd love to send to the elders here!!
Blondie - do you remember the list of questions that the WTBS came up with in a Watchtower years ago that they used as a basis to enter a debate with some church? I think I remeber reading it in a bound volume some time ago.

Just live your life the fullest :-)
We can't dwell on the past, because no one can change that. We all just have to worry about making our future brighter and learn from our past mistakes and experiences.

Sorry to hear you guys are having a bad day. I was having a bad WEEK last week...but after much thinking, I decided to make up my mind to just be positive and not let anyone have power over me enough to ruin my day/week etc. I know, I know, it's easier said than done. I guess everyone situation is different, but doesn't it help to just talk about it with others?!
So tell me more about what's wrong.... I can try to cheer you up :-)

I sat down and created an NGO neck-tie.
Using masking tape to create and place the letters 'N' 'G' and 'O'. I wore the tie for all to see, especially the circuit overseer as he heralded forth "truth" from the stage. I saw him looking at it. Nothing was ever mentioned... that was about 8 months ago...
The circuit overseer and district overseer were there.
After the meeting, I addressed some of the comments the CO made in his talk regarding the fact that a 'faithful' group was heralding Jesus presence before 1914.
Both the CO and DO stared blankly at me as I pulled out older publications at the KH library stating that Jesus was coming in 1874. Nothing was ever done to me, they had no answer, and just walked out. (mainly because I have now avoided them)

Stop right there....this is crazy
A semi-JW girl (her parents were baptized) ran off with them when they were first starting up. Do you have a link to the article? I wonder if she is still with them??

What movies make you think of the Borg?...
by Hecklerboy ini was watching a great sci-fi movie the other day (chronicles of riddick) and there was a phrase in the movie that jumped out at me.
a soldier was being promoted and he said the phrase "obedience without question, loyalty till underverse comes".
i thought "wow, just replace underverse with armageddon and that sound just like the witnesses".

Gotta be "The Villiage"
I was watching with several other people and could tell what the ending was going to be within a half-hour. I guess it's easy to see when you have lived it!!
