Jehovahs Witness= JW
"Dub" is short for "W" so when some of us refer to Jehovahs Witnesses we say JW, or J-DUB
i notice a lot of people on here refer to witnesses ad dubs or say they are exjdubs.
i was wondering what that means.

ok people.
bad news.
the marshfield donor center is closed on wednesdays.
OHHHH...
Hope that your experience wasn't too painful...
Good job - IBAT!!!
How long did the "donation" take??
well after much agonizing i decided to go to memorial with my wife.
but, we went to a hall on the other side of town where we didn't know anybody.
i had my goatee going full force.
Well if you HAD to go... at least you were able to make it fun!
I bet the witnesses enjoyed it too. It always livened things up when someone "normal" would come for us to stare at! HA!
i am planning and getting ready to paint living room and kitchen.
moving furniture and cleaning.
sunday invited to cousins house for dinner, drinks, and gamble-ing.
Yes, it’ll be a busy fun weekend for us.
My sister in law and her boyfirend from out of town are coming to visit for the weekend.
“Beautifulisfree” and hubby,& The “Gogetters” are having dinner with all of us tomorrow. Then maybe out for drinks and dancing.
Saturday, we are celebrating Beautifulisfree’s 2 year wedding anniversary. Then out to see a cool local band play in the evening.
Sunday, lunch at our house…..
inspired by scully's thread it made me think of what one elder used to use as his opening introduction in the ministry, which was the above statement.
it's very funny now, but at the time i was like..'whhaaat??
' he thought it would put them at ease, make them think we had a sense of humour.
When people would come to the door and say "I'm not interested" - I would respond: "Well, that's too bad. I was giving away hunderd dollar bills!!"
I dont think that was listed as a response in the "Reasoning from the Scriptures" book. Shoulda been!!

for starters, tonight, i'm going to hang out at my local church's neighborhood gathering and get some food, then i'm heading off to the local synagouge to celebrate my hebrew roots.
how 'bout you guys?
I'm having dinner with my husbands family. We all left the cult around the same time and this is our first memorial that we won't be attending the KH!! Feels kinda weird, but in a good way.
Yes, Wine and Bread will be consumed...but mainly because we are lushes and it also goes well with italian food! LOL!
ok, i'm sure all of us have met some incredibly bizarre jws over the years --- i have met some that could have been characters in a movie...just unbelievably weird.
i've shared some of my stories with a good friend (non jw) and she swears i'm making this stuff up.
how in the heck could i make these people up??
I especial liked the diet that came around were you only drank a mixture of Honey, Cianpepper, and olive oil
My husband and I actually tried something simular to this.... it was coke, olive oil and lemon juice.... NASTY! However "something" was expelled from your body afterwards.... I won't go into detail. HA!
While growing up there was the middle aged "brother" who would go around before and after the meetings asking for "kisses" on the cheek from the younger girls. My friends would always give in, but I had a hard time with it. My mom would even say, " sick-o" is hurt that you won't kiss his cheek ( his wife and him were good friends of my family) he really would make a big deal out of the fact that this made me uncomfortable.
He asked these young girls for kisses up until they were teens..... and as far as I know, no one had a problem with this?!?!? I heard accounts of him stalking some sisters and their young children....peering into thier windows at night. This was brought to the elders attention....yep, you guessed, NOTHING was done!
i just need to vent.
those stinking, filthy, rotten, pieces of @#!*.
my husband and i are not disfellowshipped yet you would think that we are.
LO-RU
I hear ya!! Can you say Hypocrite?!?! I can't believe the people that shun or snub my family and me. Some who have lost all thier children to the "world", others who have been DF'd themselves, even some who don't even go to the KH!!!!!!
They think it's tough love, and will bring us back? Ummmm, nope...sorry!
.
hi got any thing extra ordinary that you've witnessed what kids do and say?.
there is this little toddler who thinks running over the doggies in his yard is funny.. blessedstar.
I don't have any children of my own...but I have a funny story of a witness girl from my old hall.
She is about 11 or 12 years old, her parents are both very "zealous" ( pioneers, working towards MS position etc) and proud of the fact that she answers questions at EVERY meeting.
Well around Valentines day, she was quoted in the local news paper answering the question " what does valentines day mean to you?" You know, what a fine opportunity for her to "witness", right???
Well she replies "It's a special day when I show how much I love my parents. I get up early in the morning to fix them breakfast and make coffee for them".
I'm not sure how they parents responded, but I'm sure it didn't go over that well.....
I thought her reply was sweet!
