Imagine putting four legs on a modern snake. The body is so long that it wouldn't be able to support its own weight.
I guess I got the sillies......but it was funny trying to picture this. What will be thought of next?
questions from readers.
did the serpent lose legs or feet as means of movement as a result of the divine curse recorded at genesis 3:14?.
at genesis 3:14 we are told: "and jehovah god proceeded to say to the serpent: ?because you have done this thing, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild beasts of the field.

jws are always being reminded that you "could" stumble someone.
you had to continuously question yourself about possibly offending another (weak) christian's conscience.....were you always worried that you were going to get into trouble because you might've screwed up somehow??.

...then you thought wrong.
richard wolf, an elder in the north salt lake congregation of the jehovah's witnesses, enjoys an occasional visit to the strip.. wolf joins other salt lake valley religious leaders in saying it's possible to stay true to one's principles in sin city ?
and be prepared to be vigilant.. "i think they need to protect their spiritual life," said the rev.
However his only statement is that a visit to Las Vegas is a matter of personal judgement.
good point, I was deceived!
my son made a point to tell me that they had what was to him a very interesting, different talk on the service meeting this week.
the presiding overseer gave a talk on the society's changed view of getting a college education.. he used the scripture which admonishes the reader to "acquire a heart of wisdom" and applied it to getting a 4 year college education for the sake of being able to support oneself at double the rate of pay with one's degree upon graduation.
this of course is only for the purpose of being able to then pioneer, only having to work a few days a week, thereby having the time for the field ministry.. such an annoying change - finally!
Makes me wonder if they will ever change their views about organized sports. I kept 4 sons from playing as kids. But that's another thread.

good people, i've decided that my days as a moderator are over.. it's been an interesting 3 years.
some highs, some incredible lows, some weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
some hilarity, some tears.
Although I have only recently joined this message board I have enjoyed your comments very much. Being a moderator of a community a few years ago, I can appreciate the hard work you put into being one.
Enjoy your retirement!

Jehovah's Witnesses Elder Richard Wolf
North Salt Lake congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
"It is probably a matter of personal conscience."
What a lame statement. He must have been drunk to even give any kind of a statement. I never heard it was probably a matter of personal conscience or that is a matter of personal conscience. It was worshipping the God of Good Luck.
LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
"As it has been throughout its history, the church is against gambling in any form."
This is a comment you would expect hear from a JW, especially an elder. I wonder how much longer he will be an elder.
