Did this talk ever happen?

i heard that in a certain congregation an elder was giving a talk about profanity and the need to avoid it.. he started then counting on his fingers different obscenities and saying them out loud.. those in the audience were shocked.

he was taken off the stage and had his elder book taken from him.. .

did anyone ever hear of this happening?

i'll just come out and say it... i don't give a f**k about my birthday.

it's only a painful reminder that i'm one year closer to my grave.

i'm not here to pick a fight with those who do celebrate.

I'm not much on holidays, I did celebrate them as a kid, not becoming a JW until I was an adult,

I will celebrate 420 with ya!!

Any suggestions on where to travel?

i was thinking of taking about three weeks to a month off to travel in asia.

been all over europe because i lived there for 10 years, i haven't been to asia.

stay in moderately priced accomodations and kind of do my own thing as far as sightseeing.

What Are You Paying For Gas Prices In Your Area Now?

the lowest i've seen in a few weeks in my area is $2.85 unleaded, self serve.. i've seen it 30 cents higher and a popular mobil station just off the highway..

Blaming God..or just stating he's not doing anything.

being angry with god...just purely...angry.... i am going to talk about god...and i'm hurting...so i just need to talk.

i wish a lot of things...so maybe right now i just wish to be able to talk about this with someone..because i feel very alone.. .

you can't heal yourself" ... if i go to therapy...if i work on being mindful...or eliminating fear..how is that god helping?

Is there anything you enjoy doing by yourself?

drawing, reading, listening to music, watching movies, walking, riding a bike?

It's a very small thing, but if you could focus on something you do alone,

like be in the NOW with it, embrace that feeling and build on it.

I don't think it will solve all that ails you but there you may find peace and contentment if only briefly,

and restore some energy to you.

YOU are not really alone.

List of Branch Offices being closed?

hi, i've tried searching for some recent posts on rumours or otherwise of branch offices being closed but cannot easily find anything.

does anyone readily have a list of the ones earmarked for closure?

i did read about central america but also recently some european too.

I just got an email saying the Branch in the French Caribbean is closing down starting Jan 2011 and will be managed by the Bethel in France.

Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital

my daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.

they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.

she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.
