Prayers: Who's are Truly Worthy?
by prophecor inam i mistaken, or did we as jehovah's witnesses have the belief that we were the only people who could pray to god, and that it was regarded as a privelege that exclusively belonged to us, alone?.
is that not the height of all arrogance?.
i've been vanished for over ten years, but is this still watchtower dogma?

I was told Jehovah heard heartfelt prayers.
and also he would only answer them if they were in line with his teachings..
but there is an article that says if we keep petitioning Jehovah he might do something he would otherwise not have done. and there is some scripture that goes along with it.
If someone has WTcd.......mine is not working........its a 90 something WT article.....
You are Precious in God's Eyes!
But now I rarely pray.

Do You Know Of Malcontent ExJWs That Bitch About Life Because.....?
by minimus inthey were jws and blame everything on their jw past???
i know of people that never tried to get ahead or prosper themselves because they were witnesses.
never bought a house or a brand new car because they would rather rent and drive around in a jalopy that would break down.

Jehovah's Ministers
by Shawn inwouldn't it be nice if we could beat the wts at it's own game?
basically set up a fake "religion" and use their books and lit., rewritten so there is no copyright.
basically say that we are a new form of jws who have been told by jehovah that there is new light and he has chosen a new voice to say it.

I had a . biking accident in the fall of last year. Avoiding hitting a car I fell off my bike and landed on my right palm, but what hurt was my inner shoulder, kinda in the front. After a few days I knew it was not something I would just get over or work out.
I got an MRI(I work for radiology group) and found out I had two partial tears in my right rotator cuff. I had to go to an orhopedic doctor to see what his recommendation was. He thought it could heal on its own. Gave me celebrex and some sleeping pills. It has fineally healed on its own.
The motion of turning the steering wheel on the car was very painful. I had to get my daughter to drive for me as my job is driving.
If you can move your arms level with your shoulders and have strength you probably can heal on your own. but you cannot lift anything over the weight of a gallon of milk. or do lifting over your head. It takes a long time to heal, maybe even three months.
The celebrex caused me to gain weight but relieved me of the pain.
A doc I work with tore his rotator cuff and got acpunture and said it worked.
I know it is painful and hope you get relief soon.

Blood- would you/have you given/taken it?
by Crumpet insince leaving the jws and joining my current company i get asked every six months to give blood.
i've never done it and still feel as if i had an accident i would be very reluctant to have a transfusion.. if its not too personal can i ask what others views are on this and your experiences if any?.

When the change in blood issue was announced...all the fractions and parts ....and parts of parts.....
I thought is was very wrong for the society to expect the world to supply the jws with this and not donate themselves. It just did not make sense to take and not give.
So yes I would give and I think if someone said you are going to die if you do not get a blood transfusion, I would get one. I don't think my conscience would let me make a decision to do myself in, as I have not already!!!!!!

Disgusting wasteful behaviour
by Simon in.
what a great world, we are throwing good food away because we are too lazy or dumb and don't value it while millions elsewhere starve to death.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4443111.stm.

Anyone who has ever worked at a "fast-food" joint in America can attest to the shameful waste of food here!
I second that, although my daughter worked at Outback Steakhouse and she said they put alot of emphasis on NOT wasting food. It was very expensive.
If someone ordered something and did not pick it up, or the order was not right, it went to the trash so the employees would not fight over it, or that food was prepared deliberately so someone could have it.
Some of the produce from supermarkets that gets thrown away goes to the zoo......thats good!
I have seen huge mounds of rice sitting to rot as the government would pay rice farmers here more to not sell it than to sell it............just to keep the market trade up.
Greed and stupidity.......while so many go hungry.

Watchtower study - so long and so boring
by Donkey Lipz ini remember going to sunday meetings...the public talks went by fast (sometimes).
but the watchtower study to me was so boring and not interesting at all.
it felt longer than the public talk.
-
purplesofa
Sometimes when you have a really good speaker(which is rare) the talk goes fast.
The WT......20 years ago, when people gave comments from the heart and did a little research I enjoyed hearing what they had to say. Now, WT comments are usually repeats from the paragraph....and for me very excruciating to sit through. It felt like doing time.

How do you amuse yourself during the daily commute?
by Crumpet ini commute to and from work between 2 and 4 hours every day.
does anyone else commute and what do you do to pass the time?
how long do you travel for?
-
purplesofa
My commute is about 30/45 mins ..........but I drive all day as my job. I can amuse myself by being pissed off at how everyone else drives and of course, I am perfect, so by the time I get to work I got a really big head.
I listen to various radio stations all day. A show in the am......two guys doing odd news from around the world is hilarious and then they do ........Do we give a rats ass......other odd things ..usually about celebrities......
then music, music, music all day and I sing....and if its a song i really like seems the faster I drive.
I can see up to 10 accidents a day.....and sometimes I am almost in one. Thats not very amusing.
