1975 and medical issues

does anyone here have any medical issues that are still bothering them today because they weren't corrected before 1975 because the new system was coming?

why bothering correcting them when you'll be perfect in a few years?!?!?!.

I really do understand. The main thing is take care of yourself. It makes me angry at the way they judge people on meeting attendance and so easily forget ones that can't make it for medical reasons.

And that they discount how taxing it is to get to 3 meetings a week and Yes, sit for two hours. Especially when you are in pain. Most of the time this is the only time some even get out of the house.

I hope you can get some relief from your problem. If you had the hip surgery would it fix the other problems........limp and back pain?

Nothing is even really said on them. I looked in on a few and it seemed to further confirm the idea that they really don't think.

Did you get into Worldwide Brotherhood on the Web?

The members there will never post anything controversial for fear of being deleted from the group. It is like a kingdom hall.

The conventions over the years really put an end to JW sites, even sites that were most helpful in getting info together for the meetings......Places that had bible games and just stuff. It does not matter to me anymore. They have created thier own demise.

That sounds like my mom with her kids!

I am shocked to hear this story, and I don't know why from all the others I have heard. But this one really takes the cake. I am surpirsed you keep going to the meetings. Do the people at your congregation know your story?

left out in the cold

hello im new to this...my wife and i are still baptized....but weve not gone to meetings regulary...for some time now...even though we still go to the memorial.....and we are wondering if to go back.....here without being too specfic is our story.

i was rasied in the truth...she was not...she got baptized...about 3 years after we were married..i was made a m.s.

in 1990...but becuse of personal reasons i stepped down shortly after..i conecentrated on raiseing my family..and had to work 2 jobs to support them......3 children.....then a few years later my wife left me for some one else...and then i got very sick...and was told my kidney was failing....a elder came to my house and told me that if there was anything i neede that all i had to do was ask...well...a few weeks later i asked this elder...if he could get a couple of young brothers to hep me get rid off some boxes of stuff my wufe had left behind..because i could not lift them...he told me in a reproachful tone...get your family to help you...this after he had told me weeks before...to ask him for help........i thought at the time its no big deal....but then something else happen to call into question all about jw.

I am glad you have your wife and children........Really that is the most important.

You will learn alot if you keep coming to the board.

Why is an elder removed?

there is an elder at my hall that was removed last week.. he was not df, he still is in good standing.

he did not request it.. how can an elder be removed?.

I found this out today about the child abuse situation in my congo. The parents did report it to a shrink and was given a report of what happened. It had been going on for quite some time. The shrink reported it to the proper authorities.
The elder body told the parents to just forget about it..........even after getting the report of the findings from the shrink.
The parents of the abused child has moved to another congo.
The father did call the Society and was advised to take it all the way.
They will be going to court. Apparently the father of the older boy does not believe his son did this.
The elder that was removed(will do update on that thread) was removed by recommendation of the CO, as the elder felt that the father of the child that did the abuse needed to have priveledges removed while under investigation. (Did not have control over his family) The elder is the Grandfather of the abused child.
The father(of the child that did the abusing) did give emblems at the Memorial.
I think it is destroying the congregation, but that is just my opinion.

i was watching a program the other night in which a group of people were reinacting the early american colonist's lives.

they were supplied with homes and supplies which replicated the original conditions.

i found it interesting how hard of a time they had surviving.

I guess my idea of paradise is different. I can't see any reason why we can't have modern technology. We have god-given brains to be able to think of these things. Why would we be told we could learn volumes and volumes of writings? Why would we need perfect minds? To live a primitive existance?

Man would not be driven by greed, even cars are being made to run with less gasoline.

I think of paradise as the best of the old and new combined, without polluting the earth, hurting mankind, or nature.

Mankind would pool all thier knowledge together and not fight each other for being the first country to advance in certain areas to be first.

We would learn how to invent things that would be earth friendly.

It is not logical to think we would need to revert back to such primitive ways of life.

If we think it we can do it.
