Actually I am not an apostate, I am an opposer.

The term 'apostate' - how do you feel about it?
by ballistic ini know the answer may depend on your religious views now, but how do you feel about the term "apostate".
if you are of an atheist / agnostic view since leaving the org, do you still feel a stigma attached to the word apostate or has the word completely lost it's significance.
if you have moved on to another religion, do you still believe in the concept of a 'true apostate' and would you therefore find the term offensive?

IF I WAS AN ELDER, I WOULD..............
by minimus infor decades i heard people say "if i was an elder,i would change this or i wouldn't allow that.brothers and sisters alike would always try to get the ear of an elder so as to enact a particular cause.everybody has their own pet peeves in a congregation.
knowing what you know now, if as an elder you could make a major change in the congregation or organization, what difference would you make?.....this is hypothetical so it can be answered by male or female.

Just to say thank you...
by butalbee inon august 29, 2001, i stumbled upon a web site like no other i have ever found in cyberspace, and i have been hooked ever since.
the purpose of this thread is to say thank you to everybody for your help, advice, and support, for putting up w/ my craziness, and entertaining my fluff w/ your replies.
when i first posted here, with that 'relatives and relationships' thread, i was overwhelmed by the responses i got from people who really cared and wanted to help me.

(((Ven)))
I have to add, I didn't even know a place like this even existed. I mean I've posted on message boards, but this is like a family of over 6,600 posters all different and interesting, we're a bit dysfunctional at times, but we're always here for one another, whether we agree or disagree, and that's all that matters.

Favorite books
by StinkyPantz ini love
to read but i've recently gotten bored with it; mostly because i've read all of the books by my favorite authors: stephen king, dean koontz, mary higgins clark, john saul
james patterson.

Well, reading books published by the WT scared the crap out of me, guess that doesn't count here, though...Stephen King--his older books are cool, descriptive, and horrorifically creative.
