In my area, there seem to be an inordinate amount of people with Fibro-Mylagia I don't know much about it but it seems to be closely linked to depression. I don't want to say it's not a real condition, but I wonder if it would exist if the person had not been previously depressed. seek2find

by Chameleon inlast wednesday, i went to bed at 1:30 am, woke up at 4:30 am due to food poisoning, and i couldn't go back to sleep.
i went to work, and when i got back, i went to bed at 6 or 7 pm.
i didn't wake up until the following morning, on thursday.. my body felt slightly numb, but i thought i slept wrong.

Mouthy, I just want to say that you are an inspiration to me and I haven't even met you. I've been thinking a lot lately about how as we get older we become more set in our ways. I don't know how old you were when you left, but I think you might have been older than I am right now. I know some right now that are in their 80s and have been in the Org all their lives and I don't know if anything could convince them to let go and accept Christ as their only hope. I'm glad for you that you had the courage to leave. My time is coming, I just don't know when. Thanks again for the inspiration. Seek

Hi Again mouthy, Just to clarify, the one i saw didn't show her slit the kids throats it just showed a reenactment of when the bodies were found and told what had happened. But the point was still very horrifying. They said the Woman was one of Jim Jones most devout followers. That's why she was entrusted with the management of the House. It was where new members came when they first came to the country. seek2find

Dear Mouthy, I don't know if you saw the same one I saw. But the one I saw was on PBS some time back. And what impressed me was the Lady that lived with her 2 kids at the safe house in the city. She was in a position where she could have taken her kids and left when she heard what happened. But she was bound to the group mentally so she slit her kids throats and the took her own life. I know some witnesses who appear to have the same mentality. Let us pray for them to wake up! The other thing that really impressed me was when Congressman Ryan and his associates were gunned down as they boarded the plane. It reminded me so much of how when ones wants to leave the organization he gets "gunned down" on his way out in a spiritual sense (according to them anyway). For a long time I fought against the idea that JWs are a cult. I no longer fight the idea, because it's true. If they wasn't a cult, members would have the true freedom that Christ said his followers would have at John 8:32 seek2find

My ex, the jw, is applying for Mental Disability!
by esw1966 ini can't believe what is going on back home in wisconsin!
my ex-wife, who is a jw, lost her job, lost her rental home, and has now taken my 3 daughters to live with her mother and step-father in law.
this was all done in secret and was spilled accidentally to me through the girls.

I agree with sirnose. Many JWs try to get disability. Some even pray for it thinking Jehovah will open up the way for them to pioneer getting a disability check each month. I remember standing in a food line at a DC several years back, when they still had food, and hearing a couple sisters talking about this. And I thought it was awful to do such a thing. seek2find

One has to wonder if his parents were Jw, what happened to them? A while back the Society sent out counsel about passing around unverified experiences via the internet. The implication was made that none of the internet experiences were true. I have to wonder when I hear stories such as this one. If anyone verified it. Or is it just accepted as true because it was said at an assembly By the DO? I wondered about the one in the front of last years "Examining the Scriptures daily" about the police officer that stopped the field service group and ask them where the text was taken from that day. It sounded to far fetched to be true to me. Regardless, it's a shame that the only good experiences that are to be believed in according to the Society, are the ones that witnesses have. How about the good ones that are recorded in the history books by other Christians, such as the ones that George Mueller had? seek2find
