  Researching the WBTS is painful and shocking

  after lady liberty gave a link to the new re-examine site, i found some details that are so disturbing its boggling my mind.. first, the original presidents were voted in, but not one vote per person but for every $10.00 contributed you received a vote.

  so those already in power and with much money had tremendous sway as to who got in and who didn't.

  this little scheme was not stopped until 1944.. so when rutherford was "elected by a unanimous vote" we can assume it was mainly of his own doing based on money contributed.

  DC announcement about Donantions

  i just went to the dc and was interested about the announcement that donation checks should be made payable to watch tower in 2 seperate words.

  i don't recall this being announced that way before.

  with the emphasis on the 2 seperate words.

  I just went to the DC and was interested about the announcement that donation checks should be made payable to Watch Tower in 2 seperate words. I don't recall this being announced that way before. With the emphasis on the 2 seperate words. It was also said that the convention was arranged by the watch Tower Bible and Tract society of Pensylvania. This also seems different. Anybody else notice it? seek2find

  Double Standards

  hi all, i've been thinking a lot lately about the chapter in coc where ray is talking about double standards and was wondering how many exist in the organization today.

  one, that i've noticed is that employment issues seemed to be addressed differently depending on which congergation you are in.

  for instance, in a congregation in one city, a brother might be removed from a position if he goes to work for a fire department or ems service because the shift work would require missing to many meetings, where as in another congergation you may have a respected elder that has such employment and everything is cool.

  Nellie, Your husband was probaly right, those brothers were probaly in debt up to their eyebrows. I know several families in that situation today. Their increased activity in the congregation has been finianced by VISA and Mastercard, with bankruptcy in view in the future. Letting your "Yes mean yes" somehow can be set aside in their minds as long as the numbers on the service report keep looking good. seek2find

  Another Double standard. Everyone should have jobs like Janitors and such,(unless you in one of the congergations that have more liberal views) but the orginazation need more money. Janitor Jobs and having plenty of money to donate, just don't seem to be compatible. seek2find

One, that I've noticed is that employment issues seemed to be addressed differently depending on which congergation you are in. For instance, In a congregation in one city, a brother might be removed from a position if he goes to work for A fire department or EMS service because the shift work would require missing to many meetings, where as in another congergation you may have a respected elder that has such employment and everything is cool. Also, what ever happened to the rule that servants were suppose to be at the hall a minimum of 15 minutes before the meeting starts? It seems to be anymore that nobody encluding some elders, gets to the meeting until 5 minutes before it's time to start. Anybody out there want to add any others you've noticed? seek2find

  the best bible software??

  i wouldnt mind purchasing a piece of bible software, has anyone got any good advice on a quality piece at a reasonable price please.

  E-Sword is great. You can search words by the strongs number or just right clicking on any word and selecting serach. You can parallel 4 bibles at once. You can underline and highlight in many formats. It's a good program. seek2find

  Mexico and the WTS

  has the wts ever answered the issue of mexico?

  they have spent countless time and resources to shut down web sites.

  they have tried to answer the blood questions, the ngo questions, many other issues, but have they ever tried to answer the mexican issue?

  Another issue was the work in Mexico was restricted for years because the org was registered as a "cultural orginization" rather than a religion so that they could own property there. Religions had to put their property in trust with the goverment. So property ownership took precessadance over freedom of worship. seek2find

  Are they at it again...shockin announcement September

  we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  elders already know.
