  In My oppinion what's missing with the JWs in their following Christ, is they don't follow his example when dealing with the general public. When a disaster strikes true Christians lend a helping hand to all including beleivers and non-belivers. The witnesses didn't even establish a releif fund after Katrina they said just to give to the general fund. Do they think Jesus really aproves of being so selective in helping others? What about the story Jesus told about the good samaritian? Can you see a modern day witness treating a disfellowshipped person like the Samaritian treated the Jew? Jesus foretold our day well when he quoted Isaiah saying "this people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far removed from me" seek2find

  I consider myself a non-denominational Christian, though I still attend the KH mainly for the sake of family. I'm kinda open minded about the beleifs of others as long as they center on Christ. And do not encourage anyone to follow their group or leader, and they aren't judgemental of other Christians. I want to follow Christ alone as leader. If a person or group can assist me in doing so, that's great. Being a Christian is about being in a relationship not a religion. seek2find

  WAS RUSSELL TEACHING TRUTH?

  perhaps one should a jw this question.. then ask them ,how come his teachings have been altered if he was teaching truth?.

  You ask a great question! I've been telling this to my wife for quite a while now, that the real truth doesn't change. If we have the truth today it will always be true and never have to change. seek2find

  If Children grow up in the Truth but never get Baptized, why no shunning?

  i kind of understand the "never made the real commitment" part, but isn't learning the "truth" for 15 to 20 years, and going out into the "world" as opposed to committing,... the same as choosing to not accept jehover's (aka wts) ways and be with the brothers and sisters in union?.

  why is the shunning treated different?

  is it because, there's always hope by the parents, that they will come around?, etc.. .

  I guess maybe if we don't like the term double standard we could substitute the term "bait and switch". The non baptized just haven't taken the bait yet so the "switch" is held from them. seek2find

  Where the double standard really shows itself is in a social setting like a wedding or a death. The disfellowshipped is not allowed to eat a meal or even be present in some cases, but the actively sinning lifelong associating non baptized "witness" is welcomed and consoled with open arms. This is a situation that begs for an answer to the question. Where's the consistencey here??? seek2find

  i was driving along today and passed a church advertising some singing group that is to appear sunday.

  I thought about reading her book, but that Idea has been nixed due to my watching this video. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Disrespect is not an option for those who want to remain Christian. I felt that Ray Franz set a good example in "Crisis of Conscience" in telling his story and at the same time still expressing love and respect for some who chose to remain Loyal. I don't have the book any longer but I seem to recall him speaking fondly Of Lyman Swingle for one. To bad Brenda had to stoop to this level. seek2find
