I agree. That's why I said one more time. I may come back and post again in a month or so, but for now I've got to focus on the newsletter. :) Just trying to give everyone an opportunity to know about it. Nearly everyone who gets it really enjoys it.

It's meant to be inspirational, informational, and healing in nature. No scriptures, no debates, no hostility. People learn so much from each other and that's what I'm trying to do with this. If you sign up and don't like it, you can always cancel. I'll take you off my list immediately. But 99.9% of the people who have received it, love it.

Sinners-Not even eating with such a man!
by cindykp in1 corinthians 5:11 "but now i am writing you to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.".
if we were not allowed to be spoken to after disfellowship, why doesnt this scripture clearly say "not even speaking with such a man"?
there is a major difference between getting together and eating with sinners, than there is talking to them at the kingdom hall.

Another point: It says, fornicator...greedy person...idolater...reviler...drunkard...extortioner. It says nothing about someone who expresses a different viewpoint. OK, they might justify this scripture by saying we "apostates" are revilers (by the way, is "apostate" even a real word in the English language?). However, a reviler (according to Weber's New World dictionary) is someone who says harsh or unkind things. Speaking the truth about something is not being harsh, nor is it being unkind! Yet many JWs are shunned for being honest about their feelings or beliefs. Seems the GB would prefer we stuff our feelings in and lie to our families and ourselves in order to remain faithfully "in the flock." How hypocritical is that? (Not to mention that telling a lie while going door to door should be considered a sin by the organization: "Hi, I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses")? Oh really? Are you really a JW in your heart? I did this for nine years and never considered myself a JW. I was just coerced into telling this lie day in and day out.
Another point, the scripture says nothing about abstaining from someone who is abusive or violent by nature, so I guess JWs feel justified in sitting (lovingly, I might add) next to some of these individuals every day in KH's, calling them "brother" and "sister." Where's the common sense in this religion?

Is Baptism a contract?? If so, are minors able to give legal consent??
by coult9056 indear friends,
i believe the judicial committee wheels are starting to turn.
let me explain why.

I totally agree with you regarding baptism being a contract. I was baptized at ten and had it not been for the fact that I was railroaded into this organization by my mother, she, my sister and my brother would still be allowed to speak with me today. I haven't had contact with any of them for 25 years. What child knows what they want to do with their life at ten, or even eighteen for that matter! I don't remember any elder telling me I'd be disfellowshipped and lose my family forever if I got baptized and left someday. That need to build THAT into their public talks! Funny how I missed that point but probably read every Watchtower three times. I was disfellowshipped because I left. Period. No sins. One of my future newsletters will be focusing on how young people were when they were baptized. I hope to shed some light on this to see how young the society really goes in promoting its lifelong followers. I also want to hit on why people are disfellowshipped. The "reasons" are ludicrous at best and staggering! P.S. I also think that disfellowshipping is an infringement on our first amendment right.

Thanks for being so proactive with the news article recently posted, "JW's Call All Members Family." It may not bring down the Goliath, but it's 's one small step for us Apostates. :) The world needs to be warned what this religion does to families! Thought I'd pay you a visit tonight and say "Hi."
