Attorneys in Maryland anyone?
by love2Bworldly inhi all--just wondered if anyone knew of any attorneys in maryland who have knowledge of wbts.
i was reading 'watch the tower' posts and a non-jw needs to hire an attorney to fight her daughter's jw grandparents.

Hi,
As a matter of fact I do know of an attorney here in Maryland. His last name is Hennigan. Can't remember his first name. You can find in the telephone book. 10 years ago I actually attended a trial involving a Ex JW suing the WBTS along with the congregation overseer regarding a sexual abuse case. She won. If you are unable to locate him contact this site again and I will try to contact him for you.

Bible Study Burns Down the House...
by Sparkplug insomeone just mentioned 1978 and it reminded me that a bible study of my mothers burnt our house down while we were gone to the international convention in california.
she robbed us blind and then toasted our house.
do you think jehovah had a plan there and that we were being blessed for sitting something like 8 freaking days out in the sun in california?

Sparkplug, your real-life story is hilarious, albeit I'm sure it wasn't at the time it happened to you. Seem like it left you unscathed with except for a great sense of humor. Too bad your mother is still involved. Hopefully she will wake up one day.

OPEN LETTER TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
by Outaservice inyou may not remember, but i know you very well.
i met you a long time ago when you came to my house with your smiling faces, your neat clothes, and your soft voices, and a bible tucked neatly under your arm.
you told me beautiful stories of a "paradise earth," and a "righteous new system" which would be established shortly.

Gaila,
It has been a long time since I corresponded with you. Much has happened to me also. I live in Baltimore and I met you through corresponding with an ex-witness named Bette (with whom I have also lost touch). Anyway, I am so sorry to hear that you are still in pain. You were always so confident! Please do not give up. You sent me tons of literature to help me. It stayed on a shelf in the back of my mind. I never got free until a few months ago when I accidentally came onto this board. This board is what helped me make the complete transition although you gave me the start. I thought about you often and wondered what and how you were doing. .
I empathize with you, Gaila. I have children that I raised to "always believe in Jehovah". I am so thankful they never did. Gaila, please don't despair. Those on this board will give you the support you need.
If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. email me.

I remember hearing the incident on the news and that the boys were raised Jehovah's Witnesses, but that was all. I never knew the details behind it or if both parents were Witnesses or just studies.
Thank you for your post. It was certainly enlightening.
