  Now my youngest son thinks there could be HELLFIRE!!

  since leaving the borg, my kids have adjusted pretty well, embracing the "worldly" lifestyle of holidays, friends, fitting in with the "norm".. my youngest son chance, had the hardest time of my three kids when we left , he is now 10 yrs old.

  when we left he cried wondering if jehovah was going to be mad at us for not going to meetings anymore.

  after many heartpouring out talks it seemed he believed that god is love and if we were good people he would not destroy us at armeggedon.

  was it really so peaceful before 1914?.

  the society loves to claim there was an unprecedented amount of peace prior to 1914 and that wwi was a complete shock to the world when it began.

  london has my sincerest condolences on this great day of tragedy.

  during this difficult time, it is easy to become full of hate and want vengence.

  i know all about those feelings, and i remember in the bible somewhere where it states, "vengence is mine, sayith the lord.

  after leaving the witness does anyone here believe satan exists?

  if yes do you think if we "gave" satan some kind of a challenge to prove he exists would it happen?

  if he is so hell-bent on proving jehovah/ witnesses wrong would he go to such great lengths to make sure ppl turn away?

  No, I don't believe Satan exists. I think he gets blamed for things which people will not accept responsibility for. You know, "the devil made me do it".

  since we cannot prove that god exists and believers claim that we need to have faith that he does indeed exist one can ask: can you truly love someone that you do not know exists?

  if you went to your friends and declared your absolute love for someone and when they asked you who you loved you said: "i love jennifer with all my heart.

  " and if the friends then asked to meet jennifer and you said "i have believe she exists but i have never met her, never communicated with her, never seen her..." would you your friends think you were cuckoo?

  LOL I just can't stop laughing at all the posts. The replies are hilarious! Remind me to never get you posters riled up. Seriously, though, it is hard to grasp that someone on this forum would believe in a literal hell, but I am not going to debate the subject.

  JW at my door this weekend

  my neighborhood gets worked about 1 or 2 times a year - and since i have been out a long time, and moved from another city, the jw's here do not know that i used to be one.. so - this poor unsuspecting man stopped on my doorstep saturday morning to share a scripture with me about the "last days" that we are living it.

  i took the opportunity to point out that his organization has predicted armageddon more than once and it did not happen (of course - slipping in deut 18 about the false prophet .

  he started to try and explain the whole 1975 fiasco when i stopped him and said that i was referring to their claim that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 had passed away.. would you believe - he sat there on my doorstep and lied to my face telling me that the jw's never taught that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 passed away .
