With all do respect if you believe in the Kingdom and wait for the blessings of it, are YOU announcing that? If you can and be effective at it, Why dont you? If you already do, you are to be commended, if not, you have no right to criticize the efforts of others who do and at great cost to themselves at that.

The awake is not the same as the Watchtower. The awake focus on worldnews and other problems around the world. And what is worng with those articles anyway? They are very informative. The watchtower is the magazine that announces Gods Kingdom. If you read the purpose of the magazine on the inside cover it says that.

Why can you not question/double standard

what always gripes me with the witnesses has been this one simple double standard of theirs.
when you look at a watchtower or any publication of theirs, it has two messages.

Daughters, Do you speak with your mothers voice?
by jeanniebeanz ini hear it when i see the faults in others, and condemn myself for any minor infraction.
it is my mothers voice.. i dont know exactly when she got into my head, but it is clearly her voice and judging that i hear.
she condemns me for the dirty dishes, the skirt that is too short or the blouse that is too low.

That logic would be comforting if we didn't all disprove it....we all overcame our bad upbringings, so why couldn't our parents overcome theirs?
Because we are all NOT the SAME. example soem people have to take anti depreesants because of there upbringing. Some do not. Some can make lemonade out of lemons some can not. It is not very difficult to understand is it?

I even said to a JW relative "Well, if you met me in the door-to-door work and I told you that I was a Catholic and these things were happening to me in my church, you would tell me and try to prove to me with scriptures that this was evidence that my church was not demonstrating the fruitage of the spirit, and were not Jesus true disciples due to the unloving behaviour they were showing me. ; So why is it that I have to overlook it when it's JWs doing it? ; Why do those scriptures not apply to JWs when they are being unloving and downright cruel to someone in my situation?" ; They couldn't answer me.
Your absolutly right. You should not have to over look it. The big difference though is, Catholics do not worship the True God Jehovah. JWS do. So in harmony with the scriptures when we are treated bad by our brothers and sisters we need to follow Jesus counel, Forgiveness and Pauls counsel, put up with oneanother and freely forgive oneanother. Not leave the Organization.

One thing i have done with the negative affects of how i was raised ( or the lack of raising) was to make it my firm resolve not to do the same things. I am a much better father because of how poorly my parents raisd me. It might sound crazy but i dont blame them or harbor any bitter feelings for that. Why? Beause i figure they too were poorly raised by there parents, that is how i justify it anyway.

by Grace ini have been thinking about this because of another post where the question asks have any of us ever been blackmailed to stay in the watchtower organization.. no, i won't say i was blackmailed; however, after i wrote my note of disassociation, the congregation overseer wanted to visit me in my home with two other elders.
i repeatedly said no, that i would not allow them to chastise me in my own home.
therefore, all of my conversations were over the phone with the overseer.

Just as i thought. Making strong statements without any proof. I know what JW teach and believe. And what you are claiming is NOT one of them. Maybe a overly zealous person told you that. Maybe a hardnosed or stiffed necked brother told you that but the botom line is we CANNOT say that and the Slave doenot teach that again i ask you to SHOW ME IN WHICH WATCHTOWER DO THEY.
