That is excellent news. The fact that he would go somewhere with non JW's and entertain the idea of actually seeing a non JW girl again shows that he is not entrenched in that religon.

my brother may have seen the light
by Ellie in.
my younger brother may finally after 2 years have seen jehovahs witnesses for what they really are.. the whole time he has been studying he has had no social life, they have been happy for him to go to meetings and out on field service but nobody has wanted to bother with him socially.. he has been living in the house of my older sister who is a devout witness and a bit of a cow.. anyway, a few weeks ago she asked him to leave as she didn't think he was trying hard enough to 'make the truth his own', so he moved in with a couple of his collegues who share a house.. anyway, he has just been round to my house and told us that he has had a brilliant weekend with these 2 collegues, he even went to the pub yesterday and met a girl and has been on a date with her today.. this may not seem like a big deal but it is, the difference in him was phenomenal, he seemed so much happier and its given me hope that he might finally be breaking free.

My advice to you is don't force anything. Try not to over analyse. When something feels right act upon it. If it doesn't feel right leave it alone. Trust your gut. Your intelligent enough to have made it to college and I have no doubt your intelligent enough to make the right decisions.

Were You Appalled When You First Saw "Life Of Brian"?
by Englishman inthere was so much hoo-hah prior to the films release, that i became ever determined to see it as soon as it hit town!.
the church leaders were up in arms about it, mary whitehouse became almost apoplectic, it was almost the end of civilisation as we knew it!.
well, we duly toddled off to see it.

I saw it with some elders kids in my congregation. I think I was more shocked that they were watching it and enjoying it so much. They always were prancing about the place trying to be all holier then thou

Do you ever have long epic dreams?
by Elsewhere ina few months ago my dr. put me on wellbutrin to help with angziety and depression.
she told me some side effects would be strange dreams and ensomnia.. well... here i am posting about strange dreams at 3:30 am .
what makes these new dreams really stand out is that they are very very long dreams that seem to last forever.

Actually I had a really odd dream last night now that you mention it. It was very detailed and quite long.
I dreamt that this guy I knew from a few years back who was pioneering had committed suicide. In my dream he was battling homosexual tendencies and felt he would never get through them. He had also been caught on camera with a guy kissing him but he wasn't kissing him back. In my dream I was talking to people over the phone about how sad and upsetting it was and I remember reading about it in the paper and seeing it on the news. I also remember dreaming - I'll have to post this tragic event on JWD.
I'm just happy it was just a dream and not reality.

JWs who were actually cool
by Black Man inwe always talk about the crazy j-dub fundy types, but i knew some cool jws (co, do, bethelites, pio) during my time.
this is kind of a "where are they now" post along with acknowledginig some jws who were cool and down-to-earth.
as with most "cool" and good people in the borg, most of them are either not jws anymore (burned out) or are not "serving" in responsible positions (funny how that works, isn't it).

What do you call a bunch of WT magazines on the ground?

street witnessing!
the inspiration for this joke came from seeing a "you can live forever on a paradise earth" brochure on the ground.

Are you a Pastafarian?
by GermanXJW ini recently learnt about the pastafarians (not rastafarians).
they believe the universe was made by him, the fsm (flying spaghetti monster).
sounds like a sensible alternative to christians to me... .

They Came at me at work.......
by delilah inthere is a "sister" and her daughter, that come to visit different ones at my place of business.
they usually come about 3 times a month, to read a scripture or a paragraph from a magazine, to a couple of people.
they then say hello to me, and leave after making their wt and awake placements.

That is so inappropriate. How dare they come to peoples places of work and peddle their literature like that. Its they hypocritical attitude behind this that annoys me the most. The preach from the platform about being a good employee & not stealing time from your boss but it is okay to do it to others.
And also how very convienient that they can spend some time encouraging you while they are there. If they truly cared they would go out of their way to come to your home or ring you up to see how you are doing.
