How to Get WT Publications
by Broken Hearted inokay remember i am non jw so how can i get the wt publications or them on cd or without going to my local kingdom hall?
just want to be able to relate to what is being taught and to do my own analyzisis so that when i am having conversations with the jw guy i have fallen in love with i will have my scriptures to back up the publication researched and any questions i have ready?

Special Field Service Campaign at DA
by limbogirl ini have this memory of going to a da back in the mid to late seventies -- i was about 8 years old -- and there was a special field service campaign.
seems to me that one of the assembly days was shortened and everyone was given a service kit -- some tracts in a plastic bag -- and everyone was to go out and preach for the remainder of the afternoon.
i remember going with my dad to get in line to pick up the bag of tracts and then going into the neighborhood around the stadium to witness.

I remember that they used to do this in Australia as well. Friday afternoon witnessing to invite people to the Sunday session. We never participated because mum couldn't navigate the streets of Sydney. Hurrah!

Ahhhhhh, I'm a grandma...kinda
by lola28 inhehe, my cat had her kittens last night/ this morning, up till an hour ago we thought she had only had four kittens but we found a 5th kitten this afternoon.
i only slept an hour last night because i stayed up checking up on her and the kittens, i am so happy and just wanted to share!.

oh teensy new born kittens! I'd never seen a new born kitten until last year and was astounded at how tiny they are. Their claws are as fine as the hairs on your head!

the elders.
the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".

Welcome KimberB! Not even children were free from the vicious slanderous rumours and gossip of the congregation.
I was gossiped about. One that comes to mind is when I was in my mid 20's, never had had a boyfriend, and people began to speculate that I might be a lesbian. Even my own family members asked me if I was in that half joking/half serious manner that the JW's perfect.

JoJo's Story.......

i was born on may 22, 1985 into a family full of dubs minus the dad...my father never had much to do w/ religion.
after that, it's pretty much blank, except for what was recounted to me by family members..

Oh jojo!!! I just want to wrap my arms around you and hold you tight. I know what its like to have an unbelieving dad. To have the bookstudy in your home and him excluded to a room at the bottom of the house. To wonder why your dad is the kindest nicest man you know and yet he will die at armaggeddon and all those hypocrites at the kingdom hall won't.
But you've been through terrible pain. I can't believe that you are telling us your story. What a complete 180. When your ready to tell us more, we'll be here.
