  how old were you when you became a jw, how long were you a member, and how long has it been since you left?

  i'm sure there have been posts on here before but with all the new people showing up day by day i thought it might be help them to see that even the most hardcore jw can recover and be happy.. i was born into the religion, unbaptized publisher at 11, never baptized, left at 18, been out for 2 years and 5 months.

  3 years old first encounter with the JWs. Baptised at age 17. Stopped attending meetings aged 28. Been out for 3 years now.

  ok, first off, let me make it clear that i'm no baptized jehovah's witness.

  i studied for about 2 1/2 years, and was a publisher for about half the time.

  i don't attend meetings, because..well.... i haven't yet summoned enough courage to ask forgiveness for my many wrong-doings.

  The answer is simple - You simply CANNOT get a no blood card unless you are a Jehovah's Witness. End of matter.

  By the way I think with your attitude you are going to make a fine JW.

  i myself try to refrain from calling anybody stupid, especialy since i dont have great writing skills.

  but what are jws doing to eachother?

  it seems to me that they are indroctronating them selves with espressions that even the watchtower doesnt explicitly teach.

  This reminds me of how they used to tell us that Willliam Tyndale was a Jehovah's Witness too.

  Why? Well he believed the same things they did so that makes it so.

  recently i have heard a few movie stars make the comment that entertainers should not look at their on-screen image as any sort of idea of who they really are.

  trying to live up to a manufactured image for the screen is a huge mistake.

  Linda and Lee - I too completely understand and relate to this.

  Trying to live up to the ideal JW standard was my undoing. I felt like I was constantly failing at what everyone else seemed to achieve so easily. Later I learned this is how the organisation wants you to feel. Its a manipulation technique.

  Since leaving I've had to discover who I am. What my interests are. My level of intellect. My talents. What I am not good at. What I enjoy doing. Its been a bumpy road with more highs then lows. And I've still a long way to go. But I am loving it.

  as you know, i discovered jesus late one night while surfing jehovah on the net.

  i ordered my plastic jesus, he duly arrived heralded by a mighty trumpet blast and he and i have inseperatable ever since.

  it's not easy being the only true christian in the world.
