You well know what that the BIBLE says about the dead. You ought to know what the bible says happens to us when we die
Defd,
Yeah, nothing like what JWs teach.
BTW demons? demons? have you really studied the Bible properly?
What principles of interpretation did you apply? Please don't say you trusted the FDS. You've had time by now to read all they have ever taught, and you will surely have found that there is unlikely to be another religion in the world who can be proved so very bad at Biblical understanding and interpretation.
The evidence is in your own publications that more than 90% of what you once taught is now accepted as false or pagan teaching by your own Governing Body. Do you think I'm making this up? Have you checked this out for yourself? If it is not true, why are you afraid to look - authenticity can easily be checked.

THE BIBLE ITSELF the rotten foundation of Watchtower theology
by Terry in(below continues an idea started in another post).
just consider the difference in meaning between these two renderings.
1.all scripture is inspired by god and useful for teaching, reproving and setting things straight.

It is puzzling to me that anybody familiar with Jehovah's Witnesses could assert they don't base their theology on the Bible.
They do.
Sorry Terry, can't quite let that one pass. They most certainly do not. They are definately in the 'you can use the Bible to support any doctrine you want' class, if that is basing their theology on.... I could pick out some verses in the Bible or any other book to support anything, from flower arranging to terrorist attacks. Whether it is based on that book is a different matter. You could select any book off the shelf and snatch many portions out of context to prove some points. You can't then say their points are based on that book.
Just a wee point but I feel better now.

Very quick and easy way to refute their beliefs
by Sirona ini thought this was great http://www.watchman.org/jw/witness.htmwitnessing tip of the month: jehovah's witnesses - how many true gods are there?.
the next time the jehovah's witnesses come to your you may ask them, "does your organization teach more than one true god?".
almost without fail the sharp witness will reply, "we only believe in one true god, jehovah.. explain that you agree with this statement saying, "i also believe in only one true god and all other gods are false gods.. the ask, "how do you understand john 1:1 that teaches, the word [jesus] was god?.

Do you think all manuscripts, histories, memoirs, monographs, essays and the like have the exact same handling, provenance
T.
No, scriptures have been preserved far more reliably, whether or not you accept their relevance. The opposite of what you assert is true. Early writings spread in great numbers and with great speed, which is another reason we can track any errors, or deliberate alterations, with more and more manuscripts available. The Hebrew scriptures does contain myths, poetry and all sorts as well as some historical stuff, but these myths etc have been kept close to original writings.
The large numbers of manuscripts from such dispersed regions is why we can rule out your conspiracy theories, which don't really hold water. Some major finds are relatively recent, and confirm rather than weaken the evidence for great accuracy, which could far easier be applied to stuff like histories, with one or very few, and specific, localised sources.

Dreams Reveal Alot!
by anewme inmy dreams have always been pretty transparent.
most of my dreams in my lifetime have been awful scary ones of being chased in the night and jumping over backyard fences and then flying off to safety.
my childhood was awful and scary and lonely.

Its great you're on the road to recovery.
Your dreams seem to reveal a lot about your experiences and your emotions - they seem to reflect what's going on in your subconsciousness.
I don't seem to dream as much these days, or perhaps I just don't remember them when I wake because of the phase of sleep I'm in. I wish I still had those dreams when I really could fly...
I don't think dreams have any real meaning, other than living out our emotions, fears, desires etc. My instinct tells me they are good for us - like the brain sort of defragging itself.

I decided to cut & paste from the JWs own publications so I can give them a copy so they can recreate the most important event in Watchtower history - inspection & appointment of the FDS: :
WTS Book – God’s Kingdom Has Approached (F Franz) chap. 17 pp. 349-357 The “Slave” Who Lived to See the “Sign” ***
TIME OF INSPECTION BY THE SLAVE’S MASTER
38 Without a question of doubt, it was a real time for inspection of the Master’s “slave” class. All the facts of the case argue that the Master came for the work of inspection at the time. …Had his appointed slave done as he was assigned to do, namely, give to the “domestics” their “food at the proper time”? The master needed to make an inspection.
40 The serving of food, the right sort of food, at the proper time was the issue. It had to be according to this that a decision must be rendered by the returned master….Down to 1919 C.E. they had endeavored to give “food at the proper time”…. Not only was the regularity in serving the spiritual food a problem, but the quality of the food itself was to be considered….
APPOINTED OVER ALL THE MASTER’S BELONGINGS
….. When he returned to his “household staff” in 1919 to make an inspection of all his “domestics,” he did so in a royal capacity ….
51 On inspecting the remnant of his anointed disciples in the year 1919 C.E., the reigning King Jesus Christ did find the appointed “slave” faithful and discreet in the feeding of his “domestics.” Accordingly, he appointed this “slave” class over all his belongings.
Please use the link to check just a small sample of the quality of spiritual food that led to the appointment by Christ of the FDS in 1919:

Jehovah's Witness to Catholic Conversion Stories
by jschwehm inhi gang:.
i realize that many here are not interested in organized religion.
this is not meant to offend anyone.

there seemed to be similar (using the term loosely here!) kind of structure or organisation
I agree with Sad Emo, the JWs are the nearest thing I've found in many ways to some aspects of Catholicism - no offense Jeff. They have mimicked what they originally set up to oppose (reminds me of animal farm).
They seem to be based on the pre-reformation papacy & a watered down version of the inquisition.

I rather live while I'm alive than find out later
Here, here, bottoms up! Perhaps if there is to be a form of judgement or punishment, it will be reserved for those who don't live this life to the full, but not whilst caring for others as well as ourselves.

So if you can't fly the American flag, can we compromise?
by TresHappy inat home with the riverboat aristocrats .
sunday, august 14, 2005 .
by all outward appearances, some of the more patriotic, god-fearing americans in town live at the foot of southeast harney street, on the right side of the (railroad) tracks and the "no trespassing" signs.

LOL I find the people on both sides of the dispute as daft as each other... (moves to another thread smiling and shaking head at the thought of the Palestinian/Israeli dispute or the plight of poverty stricken people around the world).
