  this site looks different, but still full of great posts from great people.

  i joined 6 years ago & met fantastic people when i was trying to learn about jws to stop my best friend being drawn into the watchtower thing.

  the reason i joined this group was to stop my lifelong friend getting baptised a jw.

  well, i failed when he was baptised 2 years ago.

  catholic funeral today

  my dear sister in law died last week age 39 leaving 3 kids (16, 12 and 5).

  we're very close and the youngest kids are staying with us, off and on, for a while.

  got to know the catholic priest who has been wonderful and made all the difference to helping her accept what was happening.

  religion... science...atheism...religion

  someone on a recent thread observed that jwism seems to be a route to atheism.

  but many other religions fail people too after which atheism appears to be the most plausible answer.

  driving to work last week i heard thought for the day on my car radio, which made a link between religion & atheism.

  Watchtower Charter still says Worship Christ

  my thanks to jw facts who provided a link on a recent d/fing thread.

  this is excellent stuff.

  i knew the watchtower society was set up to promote the worship of jesus, and that this remained its purpose under rutherford.. but now i learn that the watchtower charter, last updated under knorr in 1945, still includes worship of christ.

  Awake help needed please

  my jw friend there was a major change in the mid-90s about the 1914 generation teaching.

  he denied the strapline on awake magazine suddenly changed.. how can i fing out precisely when the change occurred, and even better, get my hands on awake magazines before and after?.

  by the way, when and what was the sheep & goats changed teaching?

  Verbally abused by a JW - why?

  i rang by best mate last night to see if his new job going okay - i had agreed to provide a reference & he got the job.

  he said the job was good.

  i told him i'd been to my cousin's funeral, which was pretty sad - he was only 46. my jw friend asked me whether i believed the bible to be the word of god to which i replied yes.
