My city is the first name in steak. It has a world class zoo, one of the largest indoor rainforests in the world, and more restaurants per capita than any other city in the US. At least it did at one time. Our favorite restaurant is a mom and pop diner that boasts "Over 2 billionaires served". The city is also host to the College World Series.

I think (political) book manufacturing and distribution isn't a religious activity and educating people how to avoid paying tax by deception is fraud. I think this practice needs a Congressional investigation.
Right on, Gary! The only thing I can add is qui tam. -

"Deliverance At Hand" 2006 Convention
by drew sagan inmany of us are familiar with the theme of this years district convention, "deliverance at hand".
i don't know if the publication release has been leaked yet, but i thought it might be fun to speculate about what it possibly could be.
i'll start it off... .

"Deliverance At Hand" - why am I thinking Dueling Banjos?
Midwich, I was thinking more along the lines of 'Bend over and squeal like a pig'. (sorry if anyone needs to poke out their mental eyeball, I couldn't resist!)

by Vivamus inwhen i was a kid, we used to spend every weekend at my grandparants house.

Viv, try Dark Victory with Bette Davis, 1939. Susan Hayward was in the remake. I remember watching that movie with my mom when I was little. Made me cry.

Stupid things JW's say: Todays stupid phrase "young ones"
by Check_Your_Premises inwe all know that cults use loaded language as well as redefine words and phrases to have their own special meaning.. not to long ago i was talking to a very devout jw sister (totally brainwashed just doesn't describe it) about my daughter.
she kept talking about the "young ones".
she must have said the phrase twenty times over the course of the conversation.

LOL Wiegel!
I always think of that British show 'The Young Ones' with the four housemates; a punk rocker, a make out artist, a hippy and a jerk. That was the funniest show...at least it was at the time.

"Family Forever" cross-stich ... what do I do with it?
by kwintestal inyears ago my parents gave us a framed cross stich with our last name and "family forever" on it as the main part of the picture.. since then, my parents have shunned us completely.
i'm thinking of returning it to them in the mail with a letter saying something like, "i guess you didn't mean it when you gave this to us so there's no point in us having this.
" is that over the top?.

Kwin, what Lady Lee said. Save it and use it as a tool to remind your children that family is forever and especially unconditional between parents and child, and between siblings. You have a great example of conditional family to use when your kids are older.

THE NEWS IS BIGGER THAN DATELINE, BBC, CBC, ETC.
by AndersonsInfo inif i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

They controlled all the men...but didn't realize that women would / could have access to this info somehow. Wouldn't that be ironic....a woman who was overlooked for access yet "busts" all the men.
Ya know Enigma, 'the women are a large army'. (sorry if anyone has a flashback or gets an earworm)
Like everyone else, I am waiting wondering wishing. Hopefully the Watchtower is at a flashpoint in their history and this proves to be the book of matches.

I really like the visual impact of the Fushimi torii. The last picture of the alleyway, is that in the Gion district? The street looks real clean, and the gutter is of curious design. Like Aude, I too appreciated your comment on the paths and doors. Kind of like a Rothko painting. What is over the hill?
Thanks for sharing your pix.

Trouble For Richie
by RichieRich inas many of you know, i have a myspace.com account.. apparently, while i was out last night, someone called my mother and informed her of my activities on myspace.
my mother called and asked me for my login info, and was shocked to see me, and around 40 witnesses in my area having active profiles.
contents of these profile ranged from a few pictures to downright self-incrimination.

The only witnesses remaining on myspace with full-fledged profiles are the witnesses who tattle, the witnesses who no one likes, and essentially the whole "holier-than-thou" crowd. So when the elders go online, they'll find the people no one likes. Dirty? yeah, but that's how richie does it.
Richie, I like the way you think. Kudos, you cute lil' Redheadneck!
