i guess i'm lucky that i kept all my albums, reel to reels, cassettes and a few 8 track tapes... LOL...now it's all about cd's, ipods and such.

Whats the spookiest thing that has happened to you?
by diamondblue1974 ini have had a few experiences which some could be dealt with rationally although even to this day the coincidences seem too convenient; .
mine was on new years day in 1994; i didnt celebrate new years at the same although i was about to start my fade that year; i was ill on new years eve anyway and i had been sleeping when i awoke at precisely 12.13. i couldnt get back to sleep but there was no obvious reason why.. my grandmother was in hospital but she was getting better when i had last spoken to her; i managed to back off to sleep but woke that following morning for some reason really concerned about my gran; just as i was coming downstairs the phone rang and my girlfriend answered it.
i said to her before she got to the phone that it would be my mother with bad news about my gran; i was right on both counts; it was my mum and my gran had died.....at 12.13 precisely..

well nothing really spooky happened to me...when i worked graveyard shift some years ago...i did scare the holy crap out of some japanese dude...when i was making my rounds as night audit.

Birthday Ideas
by Aude_Sapere indoes anyone have any ideas for a birthday gift/surprise/whatever for a 24 year old?
my brother turns 24 tomorrow and has never had a family member do anything for his birthday.
i would like to do something but really have no idea what to do.

restaurants are a good idea. and you can let your server know before hand about his birthday.
usually the servers at olive garden, red lobster, ihop, etc...the servers will come together and sing Happy Birthday to him. your bro might get a free dessert...have a good time.
oh yeah, some denny's restaurants offer free birthday dinners for that person.

i think it was in the early 90's, the last time i attended. it was memorial and at the end of the service, an elder got up the nerve to tell everybody in the congo. the only ppl to associate with are with other Dub's
right there i made up my mind....i don't want to spend my time in paradise with these
That's when i open my eyes and i never went back...now i enjoy life....instead of waiting for the world to end.

Not an elder anymore?

Dubs abusing people
by gringojj ini am so pissed right now.
i will try and make this as easy to understand as possible.
my wife has 2 kids that are not biologically mine that her mother has taken custody of until we are ready to take them back.

Apparantly she had the elders over and they all talked about it and felt it was a good idea! They are pawning this elderly lady off on her and she is so faithful that just because they said it was a good idea she is going along with it. Anyone who saw her place would know in 2 seconds its not big enough for 2 adults and 2 children.
sounds like your mother-in-law is trying to be a good dub, taking care of a elderly person is alot of responsiblity...i'm just wondering were is this elderly lady family??
i feel sorry for your sitution.... where the elders have to control the living arrangement of people,,,
getting social services involved might cause your children to be place in foster homes.... if they found out that another person moved in your mother-in-law place.
your the parent of two children that are living at her place. you have a right explain your reasons that her place is not big enough for two adults and two children.
please keep us inform of your progress and i hope you get your children back soon.
