Is Organized Religion Something You'd Be Involved In Again?

do you believe in christianity, the bible, god-----or are you in the "i'm not sure what to think" class?

I will never "become" part of another organized religion, although I do participate at a church in my area.

Raising my 3 little girls, I feel they can benefit from the community of believers in Christ. Also being that most of my family are still witnesses and do stop by about once a year, I do need to educate my kids about extreme religion. They need to understand what religion is all about so as to better understand people like their JW family.

I don't know how else to prepare them so that they are less likely to become involved in JW and other cult-like organizations.

An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.

he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.

i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

I was just thinking, if they get rid of all the sideliners in the cong's, who will be left to pick on?

All that will be left will be a bunch of controlling, mindless freaks!!

OHHH I would love to see eyeball pecking that goes on then!

Does disfellowshipping work?

i am going to conduct a little pseudoscientific experiment here.

my hope is to prove without a doubt that disfellowshipping causes more problems for the jw's than it solves.

There were many reasons I finally left.

The number one reason that helped me make the final decision was that they were forcing me to go door to door against my unbelieving husbands wishes. Their answer was that either Dean will just give up or he will leave. I have 3 small children and I was trying to picture raising my kids all by myself and explaining to the girls that Daddy was bad and wouldn't let Mommy go door to door so I had to leave that bad man.

My mother and father were broken up because of the religion and I know what it is like to grow up in a broken home. NO THANKS!!! Especially when these dad's are really great fathers.

a scripture was read during the talk i never thought of before, 1cor 11:26 which says:"for as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the lord, until he arrives.".

if he arrived in 1914, why do we still "eat this loaf and drink this cup"?

Witnesses still believe that Jesus will return when "every eye shall see him". In a sense that would make him have two returns. I don't get it either, but this is what my faithful mother told me

Memorial

i was just wonder ing whose going to the memorial this year.. i got this email from my uncle today and i've decided i'm going only so my kids can see their family.

if you love jehovah miss your extended family want your children to have everlasting life its not hypocritical.

I'm not going because they would all be appauled if I went anyway. I think I will stay home and cook a nice Turkey with all the fixings for my family and I KNOW Jesus knows the predicament I am in and will understand my not participating in it.
