if you've been reading my posts over the past few months you'd see the research and progress my dad (a former elder) has been making.
he and my stepmom were visiting us this weekend and he told us he's done with the jw's.
Wow FL. Something I could NEVER imagine happening to my family. Congratulations.

did you guys know that?
yes-sir -e folks....says right here in jehovahs word...the watchtower.. "using life in harmony with the will of god" .
(watchtower 9/15/1961, pages 564) .
Perhaps the org could recomend blood transfusions to help "put on the new personality". Some of them could use a good ole transfusion.
This might be the answer!!!!
Moanzy
mum, i said.. "if you were forced to decide, either quit being a witness or your son will die what would you choose?".
she said.. "well, i'd choose jehovah".
i thought she'd attempt to cover it up, maybe say "i don't know" or even shout at me but she answered that, she's confused thinking that pleasing god is being a witness, and i'd have to die because of her beliefs...deep down i knew the answer but it confirmed a few things for me.. i ain't shocked or upset but...if i was in the same situation, i would never ever let someone else suffer what i believe, that isn't just.. but she added something else.
KW,
On the line of stupid and hurtful things our parents say-- when I was still a witness and getting professional councelling, I was told to go home and make a list of all the good things about myself. Things that I liked about me or good qualities etc. At that time I really couldn't see any good in me so I phoned my mom thinking that a mom always loves you and knows all the good about their children.(I had very low self-esteem)
So I phone her and tell her my assignment and ask her if she could help me out with some good qualities. Her answer," Hmmm.... Yes.... Hmmm..... Well I'm sure there is something good about you."
My mom would sacrifice her children for the Watchtower Society too.

even go so far as to torment them forever?
how could that ever be justified?.
would that be also admitting failure as a father by resorting to that?.
Very sad. If JW's are appauled by what this father did to his children as well as other families that have experienced this kind of violence (inc. mothers) Why can't they see that according to what they teach, God is going to do the equivalent of what this this father did, at armageddon?
God is apparently a sick Psycho path.

Don't forget that our father is using his children as pawns in his betting game besides making us suffer for something we never had anything to do with in the first place.

hello, need some thoughts on this one............this question was presented to me last night and i told the person i'd bring it to the forum and get some of our resident scholars to opine on it.
the reasoning goes that eve did not have full knowledge like adam did, so when she took the fruit, she did so in that context and so, was not perfect, as adam was.
terri
I just thought I would share what my mom told me. She said that they were both made perfect, but Eve was naive with less experience and if she would have CONSULTED with her husband FIRST instead of deciding to eat the fruit herself that Adam could have corrected her thinking.
So there you go everyone. Another scholarly answer from Jehovah's organisation.

Here's a paragraph from it: Many prople are already aware of the difference between spirituality and religion. They realize that having a belief system- a set of thoughts that you regard as
the absolute truth- does not make you spiritual no matter what the nature of those beliefs is. In fact the more you make your thoughts (beliefs) into your identity, the more cut off you are
from the spiritual dimension within yourself. Many "religious" people are stuck
at that level. They equate truth with thought, and as they are completely identified with thought (their mind), they claim to be in sole possession of the truth in an unconscious attempt to
protect their identity. They don't realize the limitations of thought. Unless you believe (think) exactly as they do, you are wrong in their eyes, and in the not-too-distant past, they would
have felt justified in killing you for that. And some still do, even now.
Sound like any religion you know?
Anyway it is well worth reading if you haven't already.

talk about a dysfunctional family life.... did anyone else experience growing up in a dub family that had a double standard for siblings?.
my younger sister was allowed too: have new kids on the block posters on her wall, as well as gotten taken to a nkotb concert... have & play a keyboard.
pick her own music, & have a boom box in her room.
Thanks OFG!! Really, it gives me hope

i have it on the most impeccable authority that our site is regularly monitored............my first reply was "lol...........no surprise.......we've known this for some time.........and we spy on their sites, also.
" my next thought, or rather vision was of the iconic "spy vs. spy" cartoon in mad magazine.............guess my years free are showing.........
I don't really care if any of my family read what I write. They can't hurt me any more than they already have.
Besides what are they going to do about it? Not talk to me more?
