NIK L:
This would be fine if this generosity was paid for by the Witness religion. Well was it?
Did the JW religion spend a dime on any of this food gathering??.. I heard it was gathered from food banks!
so a couple of weeks ago my wife (who is an active jw) got a delivery of apples, oranges, potatoes, carrots and onions.. the story i heard was that the "branch bought a bunch of food that would go to waste and was delivering it".. i am in california and a friend of mine in another cong.
50 or so miles away had the same thing happen.. a few days ago we got another delivery and as a matter of fact my wife was asked if she could "help jehovah with delivering his gifts".
unfortunately she is in poor health and unable to so so.. anyway, the story seems fabricated to me and i am wondering what is really going on.. does anybody have any ideas?

sometimes new situations can provide cover for one’s mistakes or intentions.
for example, suppose that i crack the windshield in my dad’s car one night.
i go home, park the car in its usual spot in the yard, and go to bed without telling my dad because i’m scared and i’m trying to think of a way out of the situation.
MAGNUM:
Yes, people have long suggested this and I agree that the virus/lockdown with Witnesses going online and using Zoom is a perfect excuse for the religion to sell more halls.
But, I don’t think anybody has thought about the unintended consequences of there being few or almost no physical congregations to attend.. What about people who need ‘association’?..What about needy individuals in congregations looking for handouts?
There really needs to be a physically present congregation and real live people for somebody with an envelope to beg money from..What about bethelites who got dumped AND what about the possible new bumper crop of more bethelites who might be let-go when the religion realizes it needs even fewer of them?
You might say ‘well the elders can send texts and emails to people to cough up more money or ask who has extra rooms?’...Yes they could try that..but they’d get a lesser result compared to having members in person they can put on the spot.
It is not that I am personally concerned about these people - No, not at all. It is just the sad fact that those who sacrificed so much are the ones who are going to suffer the most because of the incredible shrinking religion! The whole scenario just makes me SO glad I got out years ago.
do you think it’s a good idea?.
SIMON:
That is the most correct description I have heard about the USA in a long time! It’s a very big place and like many countries all tied together.
Too bad many people don’t realize this.
i hear this from the leftist idiots all the time.
if someone breaks into your home 6 bullets are enough.
well if its a one of i would argue that i still my need more round for even just one person.
FINKELSTEIN:
You made a triple post of the same thing! Is that three times for emphasis? ☺️

I understand. I sent you a PM.
i agree with people who say all lives matter.
i think blm is a racist group.
if white people pushed an agenda saying white lives matter, some people would have a conniption..
HISCLARKNESS:
Thanks! I’m sure you are a nice guy.
Unfortunately, it’s a little too much to imagine that I should go through those mental gymnastics when I meet somebody! ..regardless of implicit bias or whatever you call it.
It all depends on the circumstances, but I have to go with my gut and what it tells me - regardless of whose feelings get hurt.

Don’t put words in my mouth that I never said! I don’t believe a pair of sneakers is worth anybody’s life.
It seems to me that liberal types on here are simply excusing all the bad behavior by the rioters!..And you don’t even f#cking live in the USA to boot.

I am really sorry you have suffered because of the crime committed by OTHER black people. But, you and many other people are in denial about the crime that black men commit.
I was one such woman who had to escape from an elevator because of two black males in hoodies that appeared out of nowhere - one with a wire in his hand.
However, if I saw somebody well-dressed like you, I certainly would not have jumped out of the elevator but would have smiled pleasantly. Yes, that’s too bad about all the cliches you mentioned and so forth. But, what do you expect from people?
I won’t go into my mugging experience and close calls in malls being followed to my car.
The fact of the matter is: I cannot afford to concern myself about somebody’s hurt feelings and how something may ‘look’. Yeah, it’s a terrible thing but when the reality in the world around me changes..so will my behavior and opinion. But, I don’t see it happening any time soon!

Nah, these store owners should all be lying dead and bloodied and their stores looted and destroyed by mindless idiots. Right? 🙄
his murder was a crime and justice must be done, but it's sobering to learn more about the man who is being lionised by millions.
thanks as always to the courageous candace owens.. ....
TD:
I understand your view of what you see as overly armed police even in so-called affluent areas.
In the years following 9/11 when I saw overly armed police and military in train stations, I knew they weren’t there to protect me!.. What you want (and what everybody would like) are police who don’t see the population as their enemies. But, unfortunately, it isn’t like that.
I remembered back during hurricane Katrina down in Louisiana...I particularly remember when a helicopter wanted to land and help..well some mindless idiots started shooting at it!!! Naturally, the helicopter took off and nobody returned for a few days. Meanwhile, there was outcry by the black community ‘that nobody cared’ and ‘Bush hates black people’, etc. Well, what would have happened if somebody succeeded in killing the helicopter pilots and emergency personnel (on TV no less)??? Just HOW would this have looked to the world?
I’m sure they retreated because they had to consider what the HELL they were dealing with on the ground!..They did return a few days later...The point is that the population is not ‘friendly’. It is unpredictable. Now, with other elements in the country and disgruntled people of every sort - that you have the police force you are seeing.
