ANONY MOUS:
I think Ghislaine’s life is in danger..the way Epstein’s life was in danger.
Others here have wondered if she will have a similar end..and I don’t believe he committed suicide.
as i was researching some stuff about this epstein guy and came across postings about jessica leigh collins.. her twitter has most of her story: https://twitter.com/midnitemj but it is actively being suppressed by twitter - a regular search on twitter doesn't get her account as a result and none of her posts have been seen by more than a few hundred people.
many media outlets have tagged her as "russian troll" while she doesn't seem anything like it.
it certainly is way too detailed and is going on for way too long to be a troll nor is her story being artificially trended or upvoted, fact is, the posts have virtually no upvotes or retweets even though people elsewhere claimed they tried.. what i can gather is that she came out about being trafficked by epstein but quickly found out that nobody is actually interested in her story.

SMIDDY3:
I agree that the JW religion (and those other groups) not cooperating with the redress scheme is not showing ‘obedience to the superior authorities’ (Romans 13).
VIDIOT:
You may have a point.
anyone else get a food box delivered by local congregation to your door - allegedly by the society?
weird.
i looked online and found a couple of youtube channels saying the society is taking food from food banks and giving it only to their congregations.
STONEWALL:
I watched the video.
The reasons I think the JW religion wants this ‘generosity’ to be secret is because it doesn’t make them look good to only be concerned about their followers.. Also, they possibly didn’t pay for any of this and got it free as a result of their charitable status and are touchy about recent bad publicity because of media coverage about CSA cases.
I know somebody who recently got a box of stuff (produce) and I am happy for them since they could use it.
people know of many cult leaders’ and their charismatic personalities, with their fringe beliefs and lust for power and how they have inspired hundreds to follow their unconventional philosophies — with often-tragic results.
charles manson, david koresh, jim jones, bhagwan shree rajneesh and others have gained international notoriety for exposing the dark side of humanity.. however what about the cults that went main stream.
i guess we could throw in jesus and even adolf hitler.
1234:
Yes, it’s true that the JW religion doesn’t have a ‘charismatic’ leader at this time!
But, I wonder if the world in general is too far along in time and has seen too many ‘charismatic’ types in the last few decades to imagine everybody is going to fall for another one!
a young 81 ,may there be many more.. but feeling about 91 at the present time ..
Happy Birthday, SMIDDY3!

WANNABEFREE:
I am glad you give money to the Salvation Army!..We should be grateful organizations like this and St. Vincent de Paul exist. Surely we couldn’t depend on the Witness religion to help us if we were needy.
I’m glad these ‘worldly’ organizations were able to help you back when you were seriously in need..Hearing yet another story that the Jehovah’s Witness religion tells needy members to seek aid elsewhere makes me thankful I kept my job and planned for Retirement.
Can you imagine the kick in the guts older people who pioneered and didn’t plan would feel when they were told by the JW religion (that they sacrificed everything for)..that they should seek help from other charities??
I agree that the food box idea is good - the only problem is that I doubt the JW religion paid for it - unless somebody knows otherwise.

just wanted to put this out there for any lurkers.. as someone that grew up during the 70s and 80s, we were promised that we would be in the first picture long ago.
if you are still on the fence, please let this sink in for a while..
BETH SARIM:
I’m glad you have a decent job and are planning for retirement. If you are still active in the religion, ignore criticism and don’t discuss your personal business. That’s how I behaved towards them.
I also remember the young JWs used at assemblies claiming they ‘turned down scholarships’, etc...What you never hear about are those who were broke later on and needed to go to work!.. It’s also sad about any young JWs today who are being indoctrinated against college or career!
All I know is that I would be so screwed if I had listened to the religion. What a scary lesson learned.
The older people in the congregation were pushing pioneering/housecleaning for ME (and young women in general) or trying to get me to do favors..I refused. These older JWs (long gone) were living cushy lives because a ‘worldly’ husband was supporting them OR were getting a pension having been in the workforce early on.. What hypocrites!
Thank God I did not listen to them.

Yes, very sad..the time wasted and many lives that came and went in the Witness religion over generations with people hanging on because of that carrot dangling from a stick.
Funny, though, when I ‘faded’ my first mission was to rid my brain of that ‘paradise earth’ teaching because it was a cruel trick to play on my mind.. I don’t think I totally believed this teaching because I had no problem forgetting it. So, the carrot on the stick and the guilt trip is what keeps people there. I think being a JW has become nothing more than a bad habit for people there.
I was shunned by some hardliner JWs since I was a working woman.. But, as FINKELSTEIN said: there are JWs who have reached retirement age unprepared. They caved in to strong pressure to go out in full time ministry and wouldn’t be caught dead working like I did at a secular job!!!. They considered me as ‘unspiritual’..But, I’ll get down on my knees in thankfulness that I worked because I’m Retired.
These ‘spiritual JWs’ got invited to dinners I was never invited to. Well..they can track down their spiritual friends to ask THEM for money! Don’t come near ME!.The same also goes for ex-bethelites kicked to the curb..Brothers with businesses will have to offer them jobs! Good luck.
many of us have watched the gb #4 update.
most of us jumped for joy when they basically said that there will be no meeting in person for a long time to come.. one aspect we overlooked was how hard they hit home the "love of neighbor".
how this "love" is what makes a true christian and as a result our love for our neighbors will motivate us to stay at home.. well now they released a letter that is instructing all kh's to view this video during their local needs part.
THEDEPRESSEDSOUL:
Because the JW religion is pushing the stay-at-home thing so forcefully, I believe they want to sell off more halls!
They must feel Zoom is a success and plan to stick with it. They might keep an assembly hall here and there for occasional talks or meetings when the coast is clear to go out but I think they want to sell off more.
I could be wrong but I feel they are imitating businesses who used the Covid crisis to permanently get rid of employees. The Witnesses would just get rid of property.
i have lost a couple of fb friends.
i have had conversations with many of my friends regarding politics and since we generally view politics in the same way, there is little dissension.
however i do have some friends that don’t see things properly, my way, and i still like them.🤗lol....i know of some families that have stopped talking to each other because of something as stupid as political differences..
PETE ZAHUT:
I feel the way you feel about the current situation - and you were very kind to the girl!..I would have been more direct with her and she might not have liked me for it - but that’s TOO bad.
I have some liberal friends on Facebook and I ended up putting them on Unfollow because their whole FB experience is political propaganda garbage or virtue signaling crap. The reason I don’t unfriend them is because they are from my old neighborhood and I guess we are more forgiving towards people we knew from childhood. I did Unfriend somebody a few years ago (with a message explaining why) because they were posting hateful comments about the police - meanwhile they’d be screaming at the top of their lungs if the police didn’t come for them.
My want my FB experience to be non-political and I go on it to see people’s pictures and feel good. I don’t go on it to see blood and guts or stupidity. Somebody’s always pushing the envelope it seems.
