the kh's in our area have no mailbox and therefore no mail can be delivered or returned to a kh.. thanks in advance!.

Yes, it’s sad that these two people are supposedly the ‘best’ America has to offer.
Believe me, if the Democratic party was like what it was decades ago before it went full-on left..I would vote for a Democratic candidate. But now? No way.
Because of this lack of choice, I will be one of those people who hold my nose when I go to the voting booth and vote Republican. I’m sorry for other people who hate DT so much they would - as the expression goes - cut off their nose to spite what they think is DT’s face - but it’s really their own..We’ll need bars on our windows if the dems get in. You are probably right that most local elders don’t have the courage to embrace stepping down. Some like feeling important. But, if something happens somewhere they might rethink their attitude towards the whole thing.
I think the average JWs in congregations are just going along. They might sense something is wrong and secretly are not happy about what has happened to the religion. I also think that some older JWs (impatient for the ‘new system’) have gone to more attractive localities on the globe to retire or serve ‘where the need is great’ 🙄so that they are at least in as paradise-looking surroundings (according to drawings in old literature) while they are still living..If paradise doesn’t come soon enough..you have to look for your own, I guess.

I tried to be friendly to elders early on. In time, I learned they are company men trained to look for faults!
Towards the end of my stay in the Witness religion, I wouldn’t even look at them and only greeted them if they greeted me first.
They say hindsight is 20/20. I now know that I was doomed from the start in the Jehovah’s Witness religion. For one thing, I had No intention of quitting my decent job to do housecleaning.
Secondly, the elders are looking for women to do favors. They were more likely to approach somebody who has no family there like myself rather than somebody whose parents might tell them to leave their daughter alone.. Of course, the elders got a big fat No from me.
Thirdly, I would never tolerate their intrusiveness and disrespect. They don’t respect boundaries. Also, what BIAHI says above is correct: they have serious hangups about attractive women with a nice figure.. You always have to pay attention to how ‘modest’ your outfit is. You are accused of trying to be sexy even if you are not.
Anyway, all the aggravation came to an end when I ’faded’ about twenty years ago. I was driving home before and was near the general area where the hall was... The thought occurred to me if somebody asked me if I were happy now that I was out of the religion, I would have to say Yes, much more so.

I discovered this site years ago by accident surfing the internet when I began my ‘fade’ from the JW religion.
I had a voracious appetite for information on the Jehovah’s Witness religion. Everything was so secret and hush-hush. I had nobody to talk to or confide in about my doubts about the religion. I found a mountain of information that validated my feelings and experience. I came across several sites or testimonials from former Witnesses. I can’t remember them and not sure the sites exist anymore.
People say this forum has changed and certain posters are gone...Some people move on. Some stick around...I remember some angry individuals back then who were defending the religion. I wonder what they think now.
what did you do with your jw literature when you left?

Certain things I tore to shreds very early on in my ‘fade’:..the autographed song book I got from somebody who proclaimed they were anointed. I was angry that I had treated it like a holy relic.🙄
Bound volumes were put out with the recyclables in the first place I lived where I didn’t have JWs around who would have seen what I was throwing out...The rest of the books were disposed of over time.
I have two other denomination bibles for occasional reference. No Witness literature left.
as i was researching some stuff about this epstein guy and came across postings about jessica leigh collins.. her twitter has most of her story: https://twitter.com/midnitemj but it is actively being suppressed by twitter - a regular search on twitter doesn't get her account as a result and none of her posts have been seen by more than a few hundred people.
many media outlets have tagged her as "russian troll" while she doesn't seem anything like it.
it certainly is way too detailed and is going on for way too long to be a troll nor is her story being artificially trended or upvoted, fact is, the posts have virtually no upvotes or retweets even though people elsewhere claimed they tried.. what i can gather is that she came out about being trafficked by epstein but quickly found out that nobody is actually interested in her story.

The reasons I think the JW religion wants this ‘generosity’ to be secret is because it doesn’t make them look good to only be concerned about their followers.. Also, they possibly didn’t pay for any of this and got it free as a result of their charitable status and are touchy about recent bad publicity because of media coverage about CSA cases.
I know somebody who recently got a box of stuff (produce) and I am happy for them since they could use it.
people know of many cult leaders’ and their charismatic personalities, with their fringe beliefs and lust for power and how they have inspired hundreds to follow their unconventional philosophies — with often-tragic results.
charles manson, david koresh, jim jones, bhagwan shree rajneesh and others have gained international notoriety for exposing the dark side of humanity.. however what about the cults that went main stream.
i guess we could throw in jesus and even adolf hitler.

Yes, it’s true that the JW religion doesn’t have a ‘charismatic’ leader at this time!
But, I wonder if the world in general is too far along in time and has seen too many ‘charismatic’ types in the last few decades to imagine everybody is going to fall for another one!
