  in one, the caption says his family are 'opposing' him, but in the other he's apparently hurting them.

  Your referring to them ‘distancing believers from other believers’ just highlights to me the class distinctions within the Witness religion. I was well aware of those class distinctions back then when I was criticized for having my full-time job.

  I was considered an outcast and ‘not spiritual’ 🙄 because I didn’t ‘pioneer’. They made sure I was ignored and not invited anywhere…But, I paid no attention to all the criticism.. And when the time came, I Retired..Hopefully today in 2022, all these self-righteous critics who wouldn’t be caught dead with a full-time job..can pay their bills.

  If these people are needy/can’t put food on their table they BETTER call someone who cares, namely their so-called spiritual friends who they should have on speed dial.

  so apparently robert hendricks the spin doctor of the wt society has been proudly telling news channels how wonderful the wt org has been during the 2 years of the pandemic, checking in with each and every member to meet their needs on a weekly basis.. except, based on the comments of former jw friends on facebook, it's news to most of them since they are screaming out that they were totally neglected by the elders/ms throughout most of that period.

  a couple even said that because of being ignored by the congregation during this time, that they have walked away completely.

  Well, how about that? They were referring people to a contact list of OTHER sources of charity..🙄

  In my opinion, this situation with all the ‘needy’ people in the JW religion is almost like a powder keg or ‘perfect storm’ of chaos.

  You have far TOO many people in that one place looking for charity!!..There are the run-of-the-mill types who worked at so-so jobs and don’t have much; then those who pioneered and didn’t prepare for retirement (a disaster); then those who got kicked out of bethels over the last decade or so who need jobs; then you have those with serious ‘issues’ brought into the religion in recent years to fill empty seats; now, you have those who lost jobs because of Covid and/or who got sick because of it or the vaccines, etc..All in all, there are too many people with their hands out.

  This is an awful situation and one which makes me very Glad I got out of this religion decades ago!

  Jw's sending me invites and letters, I don't get it.

  first off, i have made it real clear with jw's my thoughts on being a jw.

  i'm out, there is no coming back.. second, i'm on their " do not call list" .. so why now all of a sudden my mailbox is getting bombed 💣 by their memorial invites and letters?.

  don't they follow their do not call list?

  Yes, no doubt this makes you more attractive. In this world you have to be mindful of this.

  I’m sure other inactive people might also get letters and invitations to come back to the JW religion. However, you can bet your bottom dollar that somebody who is succes$ful is more sought after than somebody who isn’t. That’s just the way it is.

  Didn’t you reveal here that your family has a business and you are economically successful and drive a nice vehicle? Hopefully, I don’t have you confused with another poster here.

  If that describes you, then word must have gotten around on the JW gossip circuit. They would love the pleasure of your ‘association’ 😈. Hence all the letters and invitations.

  I also felt it was the best book they published! I loved the actual bible book of James so much that I actually copied it in longhand back in the days when I was a ‘believer’.

  I was already Out and into my ‘Fade’ from the Witness religion when I read Crisis of Conscience.

  Reading this validated All that I experienced in the religion. It was an eye-opener to see the inner workings of the religion as experienced from an insider. His experience resembled a communist dictatorship complete with anonymous snitches. You never knew who your accusers were. How funny that what happens in congregations pretty much resembles what happens in HQ..The whole thing resembles a totalitarian regime.

  All in all, it was a great expose of the JW religion and we can all thank this man for telling the world!

  RAYMOND FRANTZ:

  I loved that book Commentary on James. At the time I couldn’t imagine why they pulled it. Now we know why!

  Are you serious?🤣 I have never in my life heard of the JW religion itself offering financial assistance to anybody in need!…To my knowledge, only the churches of Christendom have any sort of real charity or assistance.

  The only thing I know about Witnesses (having experienced it) is that somebody goes around privately with an envelope and corners ‘responsible’ types to give money for whoever..Some people cornered may resent this because they got criticized for working and they may refuse..I know I NOW would and it’s just as well I’m no longer around these people!

  a friend of mine told me that her witness relative from west coast had reacted to minions (child animation) in a same way that some jdubs reacted to smurfs.. aka she claimed that minions are "from satan".. has anyone else heard this?.

  well i guess harry potter, lotr etc has received similar recption....nothing new in that sense..

  I totally agree.

  I also considered the door-to-door work a visible yardstick by which JWs would measure somebody else’s ‘spirituality’ 🙄. It gave them a standard by which to judge.. And they are all about judgmentalism!

  It was their ‘claim to fame’..But, I never considered it to be of any real value and secretly thought it rather silly and a waste of time and gas. I wasn’t reached by this method. As far as it being a ‘lifesaving work’, I never believed this either. Any REAL important lifesaving work would use the media.

  The only thing I got out of door-to-door was the enjoyment of seeing people’s beautiful landscaping and property especially in the Spring - and the visit to the diner afterwards!

  I just spoke to some PIMI women in the religion. They are old friends and know I’m ‘Out’ and sort of understand because they have a relative who was mistreated for almost the same reason I was: having a full-time job. Their Witness extended family is pulled apart in strife with this one not talking to that one, etc. There are grown nieces and nephews shunned by parents who appear willing to go to their graves rather than reconcile or at least be civil to their children who didn’t stay in the ‘Truth’ 🙄.

  I am appalled at this and am so grateful I wasn’t raised a JW!…Me being shunned as a ‘Fader’ makes absolutely No difference to me since I luckily have no relatives in that religion..I think this group could probably go down in history for their shunning routine. I know the Amish do this but they are an isolated community whereas JWs can be anywhere. Shunned JWs or ex-JWs oftentimes suffer from depression, can’t hold down a job, end up needing therapy, etc. and who knows how this all ends?

  What a tragedy this shunning routine is! 👎
