any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.

Good blog. Like others have said, I also hated field service. They try to say it’s a ‘warning work’ but I don’t buy it. You would use the media for any Real warning work. I believe it’s just a busy-making work and a yardstick by which to judge the rank & file Witnesses!

You are absolutely right that the ones pushing full-time ministry for somebody else are the least worried about money! That was MY observation when I was younger and came into the Witness religion.. ALL the older people were either collecting their pensions or on their way to; Or they had a business and were well-off.
They tried aggressively to get younger people to pursue poverty and ‘pioneer’. (As I said many times, they got nowhere with me.) They hated me because I held onto my full-time job.. For spite, they made sure I wasn’t invited anywhere - meanwhile all the pioneers got invited to special gatherings.
Well, now all those pioneers have reached retirement age. Hopefully, they can pay their bills. If not, they can go ask the religion for money.. As for me, I retired when the time was right and am ever-grateful I followed my gut.👍🏻
so the end was going to come by 2000 as documented in the magazines back in the late 80's early 90's.. so how did they get the time off so badly ( over two decades and still nothing) since the gb is jehovah's earthly mouthpiece right ?

Sadly, the congregations are now full of older people who made bad decisions based on the religion’s teachings of the ‘End’ being near. (‘Armageddon’ was coming so who needed to prepare for retirement??) I’m Glad I never listened to them..
This situation couldn’t have come at a worse time since the economy is in the pits.. It isn’t like the ‘70s when there were jobs aplenty in the country. Nope! these JWs threw it away with both hands - instead opting to be in the religion’s full time ministry!👎
I cannot imagine the feelings of panic and despair in congregations and I would not want to be around this!

he wrote of an incident in 1943 where a group of witnesses in jail for refusing military service were against getting vaccinated and he came to the rescue visiting them and telling them it was ok. the reason for this was "the golden age" magazine in the 1920's describes vaccines as puss filled poison...so they were following their watchtower training..

Even though I was born after this, I am grateful I was not raised a Jehovah’s Witness. I am glad my childhood wasn’t further complicated by naive parents listening to foolish advice from a stupid religion.
Even the Catholic grade school I attended had a vaccine program. I believe I got more than one vaccine there. One I remember is us children lining up in the auditorium and getting that sugar cube with the bitter pink stuff on it.

It is really quite comical to read that they actually think reading those magazines would be equivalent to somebody’s college education.
This thinking is a product of generational ignorance and being sheltered and having no contact with people outside the JW religion.
Most so-called ‘worldly’ people even those who personally didn’t attend college at least know of people who did. They would have heard: ..how time consuming attending classes; staying up all night studying for exams; all the textbooks and other books required to be read, etc. They would never believe that reading some religion’s periodical magazines would be equal to this. However, people in a sheltered cult-like religion who don’t personally know anybody who did attend college might fall for this wishful thinking.. Yeah, if only… Real college learning is no comparison.

Even though I was aware of why medical students overseas want to practice here in the USA, I wasn’t fully aware of what states with no state taxes have to deal with: which is that they end up paying exorbitant amounts of money for everything else!👎

I’m glad they are afraid of scaring more people off. They have lost so many people: many ‘woke up’ in the past several years plus many older JWs are passing away.
When the Baby Boomer JWs are gone this religion is pretty much done and I’m sure a lot of people know this.. When they go, a significant amount of relatives who are hanging on (just to please JW parents) are going to stop going.. Guaranteed that as soon as the funeral service is over a majority of these people will never again set foot in a kingdom hall.
So, I imagine the religion will ‘tread softly’ with this Zoom thing - unless they want to accelerate the loss of more JWs.. I do think there’s a possibility that some fed-up people will tear off the band-aid and start their ‘Fade’.

I missed some meetings back in the day and my hall was ten minutes from my home! There’s no way I would have ever driven forty-five minutes+ one way to any hall. It’s just as well I’m Out.
At some point when they sell off even more halls, this problem will be exacerbated for whatever remaining Witnesses are left.
one of my close pimo relatives showed me the article and spoke about today's study.
she was disturbed concerning the points/statements within it, such as: "so, the more we get to know those in the congregation, the more likely we are to see more of their flaws.
sadly, some have allowed the imperfections of others to stumble them.

It was always my opinion that the FAULTY teachings of the religion are largely responsible for people’s bad behavior in the JWs.. The excuse of ‘Imperfection’ is just a diversion to keep anybody from examining what’s really going on.
Now you got angry people there. Angry that the End hasn’t come; angry they are needy, etc.
The religion isn’t really interested in the thousands of Witnesses who pursued poverty in the ministry instead of getting decent jobs. Now there’s trouble in the congregations with a chaotic mix of faulty teachings plus needy people who didn’t prepare for retirement. All the chickens have come home to roost. Very bad.
Anybody there who is a responsible person would have to deal with all sorts of bad attitudes - in addition to people who are a little ‘off’ mentally… I’m Glad I got Out ages ago because I could never stand being around the culture and mentality of the religion and what it has become.👎
