SANCHY:
I don’t believe for one minute that this figure of 9 million is true.
I didn’t even believe the JWs had 8 million but felt the number was half of that - especially in recent years.
watchtower put out some highlights for the 2024 service year:.
average publishers: 8,828,124. peak publishers: 9,043,460. a 43.2 percent increase in "those who returned to jehovah", meaning 65,816 were reinstated.
baptized: 296,267. memorial attendance: 21,119,442. missing stat: number of partakers .. womp womp.

i am non political and have never voted but nonetheless i have been keenly watching to see how the trump presidential race unfolds.
i believe that his involvement in propelling or influencing a leaning toward bible prophecy will unfold.
how, i can’t say but something tells me that this anomaly and outlier being trump is highly signifiant!
SIMON:
I totally agree that she was a diversity hire. And it’s not that I believe a diversity hire can’t be capable.
If we in the States DIDN’T have four years of seeing all the woke-ism and cancel culture plus the high prices, open border, tent cities, migrants being bused all over and being housed in schools and hotels, plus unprosecuted crime, etc. maybe people might wonder if things would be better if the Democrats got in.
But, now that we have seen all this garbage and the dismal failure, let’s hope that nobody forgets because people can be stupid with selective memory loss. I am just hoping DT can reverse most of the bad and do some good and that any negative effects are few. 🙏🏻
for those still in the organization what is your meeting attendance like these days?.
when i left in 2017 there were around 80 publishers and the average meeting attendance was 70..
WING COMMANDER:
Yes, I agree and you are not the only one who thinks the Jehovah’s Witnesses are evolving into an online religion.
All the halls are being sold off and an assembly hall will be kept here and there for as you say quarterly assemblies, etc. Maybe some of the rank & file will like this. Who knows?
But I think the die-hards who thought of the JW religion as their ‘rock’ to depend on will be very let down by this!! This will be a bitter pill for them. (It also will be very hard to control or judge people if you are not physically around them - but it won’t matter at that point because the whole thing is on its way OUT and the religion will have people’s $ubscriptions.)
I wonder if those of the JWs who crave and need to meet in person will find ways to get together unofficially (?). Their precious religion will have become remote and they will be left high and dry. The JW religion will then be added to the list of USA religions on the way to being defunct.. Serves them right.
Is it Shrek??
i’m just curious about this dynamic i don’t care personally one way or the other but i do have friends who have chosen to be conservatives and they get totally destroyed on social media pages for their choice.
it’s almost like a lot of ex jw w become as toxic and his judgmental as jehovah’s witnesses themselves what’s up with that?
i also know conservative ex jw’s that can do the same so again i’m not leaning one way or the other i’m just noticing factual observations.
NATHAN NATAS:
I agree with you, especially about the Witnesses looking for a ‘free lunch’.
Even back when I was in the religion and a believer I saw this and it bothered me. But, the hypocrisy of them knocking working people bothered me more.. I was not ‘approved’ of back then because of my fulltime job. So, I was hardly invited.
Fast forward to now: Glad to not be around these upset, disillusioned people who never expected to reach senior years in ‘this system’. You can bet they are looking for freebies and would support (if not secretly vote for) whatever candidate would give it to them!
an old elder friend from out of town stopped to see my ailing wife.
more than the locals do.
he said elder school emphasized 2 years and the existing body will be the leaders through persecution and tribulation.
DESIROUS OF CHANGE:
I remember hearing that statement about getting to the new system ‘the underground way’ around the time I ‘Faded’... Hearing it made me very angry!
It sounded like they were ‘backing away from’ claims about the new system coming ‘soon’. (Of course they were, the sneaky rats.) But, the fact that this statement is repeated from coast to coast is another proof to me that circuit overseers are the ones spreading all these cliches and starting urban legends!
Yes, it is correct that the old guys in the religion have a vested interest in the End coming soon. Even though we all have the same eventuality, I have no pity for the older die-hard Witnesses. These are the ones who heavily judged me years ago because I worked and didn’t pioneer. I was persona non grata but Glad I never listened to them.
These judgmental people deserve to be disillusioned.

DATA DOG:
You are probably right that ‘RINOs’ are probably next on the chopping block. Trump doesn’t need any fakes undermining him.
Been doing a lot of YouTube watching and it’s amazing how many voted against the Democrats because they hate what has happened to the country.. DT has a tall order ahead of him and I hope things get better overall which I don’t believe they possibly would have if the other side got in!

BETH SARIM:
I have no doubt they are hoping for the big ‘A’ since Trump got in again.
But, Witnesses traditionally don’t really care about politics anyway since they have disconnected from the world.. But, I’m sure they’d be screaming if they didn’t get their benefits from the system they insist they hate so much.. Never mind that they knocked responsible working/tax-paying people like me who were in the congregation.. Just hypocrites is what JWs are.

JARED:
If the ex-JWs are younger, they would not remember the better and more prosperous USA that the Boomers experienced.
So, they would be more inclined to lean liberal - imagining this is a ‘good’ thing.🙄 Being as you can’t miss what you never knew they embrace all the liberal ideologies. I also blame the educational system in the country for not doing a better job teaching history. (Maybe this is by design.) You can’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been.
Too many liberals have no respect or gratitude for living here. I can’t count how many times I heard some idiot (usually a Witness but not always) say derogatory things about the country (and some of these JWs were collecting disability!).. Yes, I can understand there are things wrong with the country that need to be addressed, but these people have no appreciation at all and they truly don’t deserve to experience the benefits of living here.
co training video: link to ex-jw reddit thread discussion.
today is the first time i was made aware of this actual elder body video.
it's training for how a co should handle elder's whose children decide to pursue further education.
RATTIGAN350:
You are right that it is nobody’s business in the congregation (or anywhere else for that matter) whether somebody goes to college, goes to the hospital or has a career. This is a major issue in the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I felt this way years ago when I was in the religion and these people stuck their noses where it did not belong. These idiots tried to be all up in my business. (Maybe they do this more with women(?) I tried to keep the busybodies at bay and I ended up not being invited because they are hooked on control and are angry if they don’t get it.
